Strange, but interesting.

This is a delightful one-shot (grin). I really want to read a companion piece where Gibbs (with his additional memories) encounters Buffy, Willow, and/or Giles (or any of the others - an Anya encounter would be disturbing, though). The two direction bleed-through of memory/habits would make for an interesting encounter.

An interesting tie in with the wood-working. Checking out your next one in this crossover after this.

Only issue (or two) is the mixture of calling Xander Sergeant, sometimes in the same sentence with Corporal. Also, while enlisted military may use the salute on occasion as a sign or respect, enlisted people are not required to, and generally do not, salute other enlisted people, except in special circumstances. Sometimes when someone is in a job requiring they be saluted (for example as "in charge" of the Quarterdeck of a warship, they will rate a salute for the job they are doing, or if they have been presented with the Medal of Honor.

...you repeatedly keep changing the ranks of both Xander and Morley in this one, alternately referring to them as sergeants and corporals.

also, marines don't have doctors. any doctor at that base would either be from the navy or a civillian.

Awesome! I loved the connection and the comraderie. Here's to Xander going far...and being far more than the 'powered' people can ever dream of being through sheer guts, skill, determination and loyalty. Doubt Gibbs would be impressed by them either.

This was a fun romp.. Well done.

I like the story except you keep switching Xander's rank around. Sgt or corpral? Which was it? There is a difference you know.
In any case good story. Wonder what happened to the gang when he left though.
