I went back to the first chapter and can't find a mention of Riddle doing a V mark on his arm, or a sleeping charm on the Hogwarts students. We see the thing happening in the future, then 2 months earlier with the Dursleys, and then in chapter 2 we jump straight to him knowing about Riddle and mentionnng confusing things that we haven't seen done. Is it on purpose? Or is there text missing?

When did the V on his arm happen? When did he meet Riddle and realize what was happening? This whole timeskip between the first and second chapter makes things confusing.

And where did the Sleeping Charm come from? I must've missed something in chapter 1, because I can't remember that being mentionned.
