You asked too much of me to read "Him" first - I'm just too much of an I'll have the dessert first kinda' girl - but - this was a fine bit of gentle, healing sex for both of them after "Belly". I'd actually say it was perfectly restrained for what they needed. You did good. ;)

I really, really enjoyed this story, and think the M material was handled beautifully...On a side note, I did take the author's advice and read the prefacing chapters, but this story can stand on its own, imo.

For as grateful as I am to Andrew Marlowe for taking us into the depths of a healthy, happy, loving relationship like no other couple before, I turn to M fic not so much for the "smut" (though nothing wrong with that), but because I long to see Castle and Beckett's relationship play out fully within the parameters of prime time television. I hope some day we will get more of a love scene, but until then fics like these capture the poignancy and beauty of their connection when words become insufficient to express their love for one another.

The sentence structure used here; terse, but pointed words nicely emphasize the irrefutable truth and sincerity behind the character's non-verbalized thoughts, as well as the overall intention for the story. By the end the author has deftly made you understand in no uncertain terms who "He" is, and just how much he means to Beckett. "She's home."; period, no question that Castle IS her home...And the placement of the italicized "oh"s and "ah"s are just perfect. You know what's going on, and how they're feeling without saying much or it coming across as maudlin or cheesy.

The way that Castle soothes Beckett's mind, and envelops her body and soul in this story is so quintessentially "them". I would encourage the author to continue writing M fic (perhaps even "Her", "Us", or "Them" sequels) because I'm certain they would be as good.
