Guext chapter 9 . 3/14 I don’t understand why so many good stories are never completed- such a shame! |
Pats X5 chapter 9 . 10/7/2018 Why is it that when I start to enjoy a new story from North and South no one seems finishes to complete the end! I really likes this one. 5 years later its another cliffhanger! please finish:) |
martengsari chapter 9 . 6/15/2018 Loved it. I enjoy modern John and Margaret love story. Thank you and keep writing. |
leilalolalee chapter 9 . 10/30/2017 I absolutely adore this story! It’s such a joy to find a modern NorthSouth AU that is currently updating! I’m so excited for the next installment! I particularly love your John Thorton and the way you use illustrative language. For example, my favorite was this chapter when Margaret met the Thorton group outside the hotel, and you described people walking around them like water flowing around rocks in a riverbed. What wonderful imagery! I could so clearly see it in my mind! You’re a fantastic writer, and I’d be delighted to read more! |
Babelvr54 chapter 9 . 9/16/2017 I hope you haven't given up on this story |
Zero to Hero chapter 9 . 6/18/2016 This was lovely. I hope that you one day are able to return to this story. You've done an excellent job of updating the story but staying true to the characters of John and Margaret. |
Bubba Seethos chapter 9 . 3/6/2016 Update please! Great story! |

shinomu chapter 8 . 7/22/2015 I really like the relationship between John and his mother, it really shows how alike their character is, and how well they understand each other. I always found it sweet that he had such a nice bonding with her! And omg, I really like when you write from his pov, especially the underlying humour ("Take that, Margaret!" hee, I laughed out lout!). This story is truly awesome and inspiring. |
garlingd chapter 9 . 10/7/2014 Where's the rest. Keep going! I love it! |
armytage fan chapter 9 . 7/27/2014 I hope Margaret keep the first sketch of John! I liked this chapter a lot :-) |
Shahrezad1 chapter 9 . 7/13/2014 This is absolutely brilliant. :D By far the best modern adaptation of North and South that I've read, especially with how you've tied in specific integral events (things like it being a planned community-thus necessitating walks and possessing a close-knit, town-like structure. Plus the football game in lieu of the strike, and Bessy heading off to college instead of dying). I especially like all the creative little flairs you've thrown into the story to make it your own and add a feeling of an entirely new tale-the fact that you've focused in on Margaret's talent for art, for example, and making her Aunt a fashion design. Everything has been brilliantly researched and planned down to a 't,' thereby making it look effortless-I really do feel as though you've thought of everything, changing events as based on the needs of the main plot points (such as the situation of Margaret traveling with the Thorntons on the train). Brilliant work, lovely dialogue, and you've done an impressive job at cementing the characters' personalities. I definitely approve! :D |
KylieKyotie chapter 9 . 7/11/2014 This is such a good adaptation of N&S to modern times. I just discovered it and completed all 9 chapters in one sitting for a lovely binge-read. I'm really enjoying everything. My heart still goes out to John Thornton - poor man - completely blind-sided by his unreturned affections. The characters are very faithful to the series but more temperate which I think is realistic for a modern setting. Except of course Mrs. Thornton - a severe woman in any time period it seems. Can't wait for the next chapter...a month you say? |
JenB chapter 9 . 7/2/2014 July will be a long month indeed as we readers wait with bated breath for your update in August. Great story so far! |
PrincessJasmine chapter 9 . 7/2/2014 I just love reading your modern adaptation of N&S! I love how you kept true to the characters but still made them fit in today's world! Can't wait to read what happens next! |
