This story is so beautiful! The way you describe Regina's emotions is impeccable; you've captured her voice perfectly. Same goes for Robin, they're both in character. I loved the slow burn in this story, how they were instantly attracted to each other, how they got to know each other first, how they flirted and bonded before something more happened with them. Regina's lingerie was a nice addition to the story, something hidden and yet important and symbolic to her real feelings and thoughts about herself. I loved the cute Roland moments! A beautifully written story and interesting until the end!

I love this- have read it a few times now and just wanted to say thank you for posting it. Lovely character study/development, plus they're ridiculous and hot and adorable -somehow all at the same time- and again, I love this.

Also, this:
She gasps, falls back against the wall as the force of her memories flood through her and she cannot breath, cannot think because all that she does think is he found me he found me he found me.

"Just like the two idiots," she mutters under her breath.

I'm just gonna go die laughing now. Because I can absolutely see her having to snark about Snow and Charming in the middle of having a moment of her own and I don't have words for how much I love that.

This long one-shot was a lovely view into Regina's possible thoughts, feelings, and motivations. It offered a really neat perspective as I read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved how you wrote Robin and Roland, and your way of having Regina interact with them seemed realistic and true to what we have seen in the show. You did a great job in general with the wounded woman who has only ever wanted to be truly loved, who has always been beneath Regina's tough outer armor. I think Robin and Roland - with Henry's continued help - will be the ones to finally set that softer, happier Regina free, despite the obstacles that are in the way right now. Great Job! I loved reading it!

Ahhhhh. This was incredible, JD. You did such a fantastic job with Regina's character and her fears and loneliness and I just want to hug her. And Robin was perfect and sweet Roland. You killed me with family feelings here. And I love the mentions of CS because obviously. Love, love, love this.

Love this idea, and the execution! The moment when she kicks him out of her house just as things get intense-ugh so in character and so heartbreaking.

The best Regina POV I've ever read so far, and the best Outlaw Queen fic I've read yet as well! Beautifully written, ad so powerfully emotional. So in-character (I also LOOOVED the CS references, sneaky you!).

PS: This fic also made me want to buy lingerie.

This should win all the awards in the world, seriously. Your fic is absolutely stunning - hands down the best Regina introspective I have ever seen. It was so full of understated details of her personality - her fears, her insecurity, her hopeful heart fighting against her pragmatic, defeatist mind...gah, everything was just beautiful. My favorite line was "(no wonder he was so kind, no wonder he was so thoughtful, no one is ever kind and thoughtful to Regina - )" because it is simple, it is heartbreaking, and it is pure Regina.
