I like how you have set up the context of them both being quite antogonistic to one another, and how smething moves them to subtly, slowly, start connecting.

I think you have a very good thing going on here.

Personally, I see it as both of them being aware that only True Love's magic can be the reason why they have worked together so far, but they have yet to be fully aware that this is what they are feeling. You know? As if, at this moment, true love for them was an imposition, something they have not yet come to terms with. You could really develop a good story about how this evolves, with Regina teaching Emma how to control magic, amd Emma showing Regina how to trust in others.

I would really like to read the following chapters if you decide to keep on writing this tale!
