Rien chapter 1 . 4/26/2018 Your way of retelling Norse mythology is awsome. :) and your way of writting Sigyn is simply genius. |
Vanessa Masters chapter 1 . 4/8/2016 Oh love it! Sweet! And Cute, the playfulness between Sigyn and Loki. My fave pairing. I def want to read more norse myths like this. |
LaylanatorXVII chapter 1 . 8/26/2015 Wow. This was awesome. I wrote my own version of this myth, but it is nowhere near as good as this (but then again, mine is significantly goofier than this: it's more of a humor story). I loved, loved, LOVED the "hammer is his penis" jokes. Laughed for ages. And LOKI! OH MY GOD, I LOVED YOUR CHARACTERIZATION. Sigyn, too. Sadly, I must say that I never gave her much thought before now, but man. Great in this. Heimdall frustrated me, seeing as he was so cryptic in this: there were so many "unreadable expressions" and it DRIVES ME MAD NOT TO KNOW. :-) Thanks for writing! Going to check out more of your stories so I can see just how bad my story is by comparison. Toodles. :-) |
gythia chapter 1 . 7/16/2014 I love it! This is so- everything! Sweet, funny, cute, full of little heart-stopping moments of angst, and dead on accurate with the gods! |
Jezebel DeTrazie chapter 1 . 5/17/2014 Okay, I've read like ALL of your myth fics on AO3, but I didn't have an account so I couldn't comment (plus I didn't wanna put my email in the email box cuz I didn't know what it does ;), so now, I'm finally commenting! And seriously, your like, my Norse legends hero. I idolize you! I love your Loki/Sigyn fics SOOOO much, they're funny and creative and absolutely GENIUS! |
Caramel.Raven chapter 1 . 4/9/2014 Oh wow, your stories never disappoint. I really enjoyed your version of the tale of Thor's stolen hammer. It is one of my favorite myths. I don't know how you always manage to weave in some critique on the Aesir's way of life, their prejudice and hypocrisy but it fascinates me. Especially since it's never explicit but rather subtle or at least unacknowledged. Boldly poking fun at those issues while deprecating himself to placate & distract them, Loki sure knows how to handle the Aesir but it still sets him apart. Why was Heimdall so angry with him the whole time? It was not solely because he recognized Loki as the Jotun woman who refused him twice, was it? And it is only him the knows he hit on Loki. If he even realized it. I loved how you explored and expanded upon the relationship between Loki and Thor. Of course, Loki would miss no chance to tease him and rile him up but that moment, Loki stopped and wearily reassured Thor, was really powerful. I can only guess at his motivation. Was it because he thought it sad that Thor thought they needed his protection against the 'awful, wicked' Jötnar? Was it because he regretted that Thor's humiliation had gone overboard? Was it to sooth Thor as a friend would or something different? I can't help but wonder... And I don't believe we've seen much of Sif yet but I liked her compassionate and loyal soul. I was quite excited to see more of Frigg (I personally am very fascinated by mother figures in stories) and I loved how she acknowledged Sigyn's feelings and even helped her. She is very wise and tender. I love that. Sigyn learning from her is a unique opportunity but like Loki, I was impressed by her self-awareness and cleverness when explaining why she didn't want to learn divination as well. I can certainly see why Loki likes her, I can relate to her and that is the key to why these stories are so enjoyable to me as she is not usually one of my favorite characters. I absolutely adore your portrayal of her. Loki, too of course, was as charming and witty as ever. And we got so much flirting and so many genuine moments of affection in this story. My insides have turned into goo. When Loki approached Sigyn to ask her how he looked, when he was honestly surprised both at her answer and her boldness, when he shifted into a snow bunting and tried to woo her (omg so awesome), the fact that he waited up for her and that he's always so pleased to have her around: all these things spell love to me. There's just something so pure, so raw about it. It's rare on this site which is why I treasure it so much. Thanks so much for this engaging story. I'm always delighted to read one more of your stories. :D |
Zena Alexander chapter 1 . 4/6/2014 I was pleasantly surprised when I read this story! I love your writing style and the way you portray the characters. Marvel somehow can't do justice to Thor's temper or Loki's sarcasm. Wonderful job! |
