Oh no I feel so much for both Kili and Fili. Especially Fili and his dreams of his family with his Marta :( I hope it becomes a reality. Good thinking about the chromosome thing. Since the brothers link to the line of Durin is from their mother, I don't think they get the gold-sickness either.
Your narration about the treasure is wonderful. The dwalves of Erebor shouldn't have greed for such an amount of their treasure. As you said, they can give only some to Bard to rebuild both Dale and Lake-town.
