I enjoyed reading this(like you I haven't been around much lately due to a lack of time)...Seeing as they are so close in canon,it's not suprising that Renji would see Rukia in his subconscience as a kind of guide/mentor (RenRuki is still the best Bleach pairing...they know each other far better than they know anyone else)...

I think this is a delightful little one-shot that neither oversteps the bounds of believability and takes great care to illuminate a very small scene in the manga (less than two pages worth of action) to great effect. It's entirely plausible that Renji would envision Rukia as the 'better, smarter' part of his psyche, as she often functions this way in canon. It also makes me quite happy to see the author pay proper attention to grammar and spelling, as well as attention to detail as far as scripting Renji's rough street accent. Nicely done. Please keep up the good work :-)
