Alright, constructive criticism time. (:

I can't comment much on the characterization or plot, as you know so most of my feedback is going to be involving grammar/spelling/style until I read more. You did well describing the surroundings and setting the scene. I realize fanfiction is frequently different than original fiction in describing characters as it's sort of assumed that your readers are already familiar with them and that it's quite possible I would have known otherwise if acquainted with the fandom but I assumed Akihito's fur was black until you said otherwise toward the end of the chapter. If this isn't canon, it may have been a nice addition to the wonderful descriptors earlier on in the story.

Speaking of descriptors, I really liked some of the comparisons you used to help paint the picture and enjoyed the imagery. There were a few sentences that seemed to have 'filler' words - words that could have been cut while still getting your point across - and made a few parts 'gummy' to read through, distracting from the imagery in the remaining paragraph. Might I suggest reading your story out loud to yourself? It will help weed out sentences that ramble on or use multiple adjectives that mean the same thing (ex: his stoic face was expressionless).

I'm interested in reading more, though, despite not being in the fandom and am curious as to where this will lead. (:
