Almost cried a little on this one... "My treasured son"... Calling someone a treasure just- means so much coming from a Dwarf, and it's so easy to see the love that Gimli and Gloin have for each other.
I enjoyed this fic, getting glimpses into Dwarven hearts and minds. Well done!

The last sentence is my absolute favorite! Although Bilbo will have to buy back a good deal of his own furniture before he can restock Bag End's pantry! :)

It's so great how Thorin goes from "no beard, must not be suitable" to "well maybe" in a short amount of time. And Bilbo's wonderings are so... amazing.

nice recommendation! as great your plethora of works is, it's kinda hard choosing where to start from hahaha, I'm currently working my way through the Quarantined series, now halfway through By Chance or Purpose.

Very nice chapter. Recently I was rereading LOTR and thinking about how much I like Gimli; I think he is underrated. Sturdy, faithful, great friend and good sense of humor. You did a great job on the dialogue here, very Tolkein in style.

Good description of Bilbo from the dwarves point of view.

Very nice. I love the movie and understand the need to hurry along the story, but I missed the moments of the dwarves appreciating Bilbo helping them escape from the spiders. Fili and Kili are also very good.

Good job of capturing Balin's talent for diplomacy.

"Re-stock his larder, which we have sorely depleted!" Balin said with a grin...

Nice start to the series. I missed Thorin's harp in the movie. I have really enjoyed reading your LOTR fan fic so I'm excited to see some more from the Hobbit as well.
