Is this a gender bender? Because of it is I think it would be best to say that before the story because I throught that you were confused on what the characters looked like. Also I thought that you got all the "his" and "hers" wrong so I thought you didn't know how to use grammar. Just saying that you should announce if you are going to do a gender bender so your audience knows hat to expect.
