Anaih323 chapter 11 . 8/31/2017 Not bad, not bad :3 |
KBates chapter 11 . 12/11/2016 This was an interesting read. Good to see Jareth receive the justice he clearly deserves. Also, I'm really glad that there wasn't an anti-choice speech even though Sarah chose to have the child. On rape/ non consensual BDSM stories: I've never found coercive sex stories hot- especially those 'her mind says no but her body says yes' types. The whole Bowie thing doesn't bother me too much as the age of consent in the UK is 16 (same in Canada). It's only the US that's hell bent on keeping the age of consent at 18. |
zephrbabe chapter 11 . 11/20/2016 It's always nice to have a little bitterness in the overall sweet of this fandom. This one is dark, and evocative, and Jareth changes from chapter to chapter while keeping his nature, for some character non-development that was both maddening and entertaining. I'm certainly partial to a powerful Dark Lady, even if it's not Sarah this time, though Sarah does radiate "implacable queen" (and wouldn't I just love to see that High Queen trope played with more). I'm glad this one was salvaged from the fic graveyard and revivified. |
valerie21601 chapter 11 . 11/19/2016 Just something that occurred to me tonight, if Zedek happened to be conceived a night or two, before Sarah trapped Jareth in the box. 9 months of pregnancy and the baby is, around months old, means 13 months went by before Jareth faced his judgement and execution. 13 and all of the magical meaning to it. A coincidence? (wink, smile, wink) |
Jetredgirl chapter 11 . 11/19/2016 Well, as I have said privately, I don't necessarily agree on the validity of the Maddox/Mattix story, because when one tells several different versions of a story I'm immediately suspicious. However I also wasn't aware you hadn't heard it before the 2015/16 version, I often forget while this is a thing that has been floating around the music scene for decades(I was 17 when I first heard it in 87), it might not be something out in the "real world" as opposed to the insular world I was a part of for so long, where tall tales of groupie conquests are everyday fodder for gossip and most of them are rubbish and reactions range from an eye roll to a guffaw with a derisive snort. That isn't saying he was a saint, far from it. If not that particular person, it's possible and probable he partook of the underage groupie scene knowingly or unknowingly at the time, as IDs were definitely NOT checked at the doors to those ratty hotel rooms of the day, too many drugs and too little common sense. Frankly they still aren't but most are less foolish now. I will just say, there are those places in history where everything is changing and rules go out the window and crazy wild things happen. I highly recommend taking into account it was a different and by all accounts, insane, time and place for everyone involved. I have yet to read any story you write that isn't a great read. I'm kind of numb to loss at this point this year, so even the saddest stories don't hurt much right now, certainly not anymore than this year hath wrought. Just a smidgen of gut ripping. Love on ya my friend! |
valerie21601 chapter 10 . 11/14/2016 After waiting so long for the conclusion. It's sad to see if finally end or is there another chapter to go since there is no Completed listed on it. |
Jetredgirl chapter 10 . 11/14/2016 See...guts ripped out. I knew someone was going to die, just wasn't sure who at one point. Jareth found a measure of nobleness, at the end. Now I'll go cry in my coffee. But not much I steeled myself against it. |
Child of Dreams chapter 10 . 11/14/2016 (sniffles) I miss Jareth... |
Child of Dreams chapter 9 . 11/14/2016 (sighs in relief) |
Sazzle76 chapter 10 . 11/14/2016 Heartbreaking but sweet, love a happy ending, thank you : ) |
Guest chapter 8 . 11/13/2016 By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes, And I think it's Jareth. Yikes. Panda |
J.R. Godwin chapter 8 . 11/13/2016 I'm curious whether or not you knew while writing this that the owl is the harbinger of death in Native America. It makes your imagery particularly frightening. |
Jetredgirl chapter 8 . 11/13/2016 I've been reading your older ones again lately too. The highest compliment I can think of to give you is, I think our Sailor would have enjoyed them very much as well. I wish he could have read them. Or maybe he has been peeking over our shoulders and smiling as we get our inspiration from his work. Would that be a surprise really? While I may have an idea where this may be going, I never assume. You make me feel lazy, or that at least my muse is ;-) |
Sazzle76 chapter 7 . 11/13/2016 This could go any way and I love that I cannot determine the final outcome. Very good writing, I especailly like how you described the fading of the music, it gives the scene an extra dimension to get absorbed in, great job, thank you : ) |
J.R. Godwin chapter 7 . 11/12/2016 Man, I come home with Chinese food after a late night out in Brooklyn, and I find another chapter up so soon already. Did Christmas come early or what? |
