Hey! Sorry this review came in late, I had to head off to bed last night and despite wanting to finish the story, was unable to.
I detest people who portray Nepeta as weak! She hunts and puts up with Equius for a living, but she still paints and ships and RPs! She's all-around amazing. Thank you so much for painting her as a realistic character, one with fears and worries and heartaches, but also one who knows that she can't dwell on her misfortunes, and presses ever onward.
Unless I'm mistaken, the other Beta kids are, as of the moment, not present? Are they planning on looking for them tomorrow? I can't wait to see Rose's face when she realizes...
That final sentence kicked my heart while it was still down. That's a gorgeous scene in my head right there, let me just savor this.
No more chapters? For over a year? D: But I'm so emotionally invested in this story! So attached to the whole plot! Please please continue! There's so much more potential this idea has to unlock! The tale can go in so many directions! I'm really just burning to see what happens next! Have you given up on this fic? :(

Alright so I just went back and read the blurb more closely, and it would seem that the infection death I've been obsessing over was, in all likelihood, Eridan's. Gosh frick me.

Rose is my favorite beta kid. We share a fair amount of characteristics and hobbies, and I admire her elegant speech style and overall personality. That being said, her trickster mode self is GREAT. SHE'S A FREAKING PICK-UP TRICK OH MY COD THIS WHOLE TRICKSTER CATASTROPHE IS GOING TO TERRIFY AND AMUSE ME.
I do appreciate how calm everyone is acting despite the whole trickster fiasco, though. Very entertaining.

1) Something's very wrong with Nepeta. Is she going to die of the infection? Because SOMEONE who held Terezi at one point is going to die of the infection, and I'm not sure why you added the part about Dave holding her, but I'm hoping it's not just so he'll fit the bill (y'know, the one for death by infection)
2) I find it mildly shocking that John trusts Karkat as the first person to ask for help from, what with all the betas there, when they met not too long ago. Although I guess Karkat has that effect on people. Hmmm, do I sense some shipping here? I don't ship it, but I can definitely roll with it.

Oh Terezi...this is certainly going to screw her over. She didn't even get a chance to help in the fight. If she survives, she'll just be thinking "Well if I had been conscious, maybe so-and-so wouldn't have died..." "If I had been there to help, maybe I could have..."
And Feferi and Kanaya...I feel terrible for forgetting them, but I just remembered them now. They died back there, didn't they? They were shot...I feel dizzy.

But Eridan...he died in a whole different way. He died hoping for love, life, friends. He died wishing someone was there. He died wishing someone would cry for him. He died wishing for a normal life, in which he could die fulfilled. He died wishing someone cared. And I don't care what anyone says, I think that's one of the worse (if not THE WORSE) ways to die.

And as for Vriska...
Can I give you a hug? Are you someone who will accept a large hug for all that you do for the world? Because she died in a rather dishonorable way (being stabbed from behind) but she died saving Tavros, and while some people hate Vriska for her rather manipulative and apathetic ways, yes she could be nicer, but she has a heart, too, and it pumped its last for the one she loved.
Cod, this is doing nothing but making me sad. And who was Aranea's friend? If it was Meenah, so help me, I will scream my lungs out. I thought she was with Feferi! Unless...oh no, please no no no. And Eridan! He got like, two sentences, maximum! Please tell me there's more.
