Wow! I love your description of the last scene. Kinda like the charge scene in The Golden Compass, but much, much better! I have been going through some of your stories and they been well written, in my humble opinion. As a general rule I do not "favorite" an author until I've read some of their works. I am going to favorite you now cause I am very happy to find another good writer as I am a reader, not a writer, but someone who has read for over 55 years. Thank you so much for though this a short story it is "alive" and, I think, wishes for more. hehe

The problem with making your lead characters into heartless killing sociopaths, is that nobody cares anymore how the story progresses after that. Boringly written too.

Elegant, concise, evocative. Very nice! I'd enjoy reading more along these lines. I hope that if you add more to this story, you keep the same cadence and tone. It's really nice, how smoothly and quickly it moves along while still conveying the emotion it does. Great example of how a story doesn't have to be overly detailed or overly long to tell a tale.

Without a doubt this is one of the best Elsanna pieces I have ever read. You crafted an excellent story that left me wanting more. I sincerely hope that you would consider writing something similar to this in the future because this was superb.
