Gotta admit, I'm still ambivalent about the way Deeks acted. On the one hand I totally understand it (saying no to a booty call from Kensi?) but on the other he knows where it will lead him. I think you captured that very well, both for him and for her, although somehow I think that she would have less trouble getting past this, given her history with men (especially her one-date rule and/or one night stands), over-controlled emotions, etc. He's been so invested in this that I could see him being alone for the months since the break up.

Your story also seems to fit in with what we've seen so far from the show's writers. They ignored 5 months of time (I guess they didn't want another 'recovery from torture' story arc?) and just put them all back to work, never mind her statement that it was really bad and breaking down. *rolls eyes* From what they've shown, Densi isn't, nor have they talked things through. I'm not sure where they're going, but I could see it being similar to what you wrote - they tried a bit, awkwardly, both are damaged, work suffered, they ended it to keep working together.

Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. Don't get me wrong, you write well, and it would definitely be tense/awkward to work with a former lover like this. The thing that bugged me was that Kensi was a little too snarky/bitchy. Teasing Deeks so he would mess up makes sense, although that would be more appropriate before or while they were dating. Here it just seems a little mean, which Deeks' reaction to you wrote very well.

I'm interested to see where you take this in the next chapter, and to be honest I hope it's not a quick resolution. Personally I like stories where Deeks stands his ground and lets the rest of the team know that he's not a pushover and that he deserves their respect, Kensi included.

How is it possible that the ending of this story breaks my heart and gives me hope for their future together at the same time? They are still so damaged from what they've been through that they can't be together right now. (Just leave me be. I'll be over here. Sobbing in the corner, drowning in a puddle of my own bitter tears.) But the line about being half way to ten years... even though your story is complete and you left it with them leaving sex off the table... that gives me so much hope that they will figure it out. This seems to be the first really honest conversation they've had with each other. Sigh... seriously, well done. I don't know whether to love you or hate you for this roller coaster of emotions you've put me through.

Oh and great job on the Densi sexytimes! More please because I know you loooove writing it so much :)

That was good, really good, but if it ends with the sunrise it is not better than what the actual showrunners will serve us ... Densi complications until the end of the series ...
FanFiction is a good way to get past these "TV Show viewers rating" driven choices and get our fantasies become real ... :-D
I hope you write a few more chapters to "correct" that ...
But I like the story even if you dont.
