This was so wonderful. I loved this particular episode. Yugi was indeed unbelievable brave. He managed to save Joey from Marik's grip and make sure that his friends would be okay. At the same time he was ready to sacrifice himself to make sure everyone would be okay. He even gave Joey the puzzle hoping Yami would be okay.
I pair Yami and Yugi very much because they make so much sense, but I also understand that no matter the name of the relationship, Yami was extremely proud of Yugi at that moment. And indeed he must have been terrified not knowing what was going on

Poor Yami, being thrown back into the void seemed to rattle him but what caused him to suffer more was not knowing what was happening to Yugi

I love how you wrote the interaction between everyone in this. I can see them thinking some of these things in the anime.
