Poor Simon. I don't usually read anything with a romance tag, but it's been too long since I read a high-quality Firefly fanfic, and this certainly fits that bill! Plus, the whump is always fun. :-) I really enjoyed your turn of phrase, and the way you paint a picture with a small number of words. The part where they enter Badger's 'dizzying maze of passages' was particularly vivid, with the dripping pipes and steam. Your characterisation is spot on, too. I wish Mal would hurry up and have an attitude adjustment (although I suppose that would shorten the story), but his behaviour is completely believable. Love your story so far!

Ahhhhhh, this is everything I want and need right now. I recently binge-watched Firefly again and am now craving more of Simon somethin' fierce. I love stories where the Captain and crew take a little longer to warm up to Simon and his sister. Watching him fight tooth and nail in his own gun-less manner is awesome. Seriously, this is great and I am craving an update so much. I hope you update soon! Thanks for sharing everything you have written so far, and I hope you won't discontinue this gorgeous fanfiction. Keep writing, please!
