The whole situation between Hai and her family has spiraled out of control. Aside from her father and possibly her sister, the rest of the family is at fault, including Heights.

Its just me, but I get the impression that Heights let her bitterness towards her mother get in the way of her relationship with the rest of her family. There are times where I do feel sorry for her because she's coping it from all sides, but at other points in time, I think she's selfish. I can't say I understand how she felt but it seems like she just gave up and that everything else didn't matter as long as she could feel safe. She took Akashi's advice to stop talking with her mother which then extended to her family because she both didn't know and didn't want to handle the situation...

Hmm, I'm confusing myself now. I just hope Heights can reconcile with her brother and sister.
