I have sort-of read this style before, but it's usually just one chapter of a book. And never in fanfiction.
Oh, maybe in epilogues, actually.
But this was fresh and adorable. And it mentioned Pokémon: The Movie 2000, AKA Pokéshipping: The Movie

My only problem with Misty is, yeah, she didn't get much character development and didn't really achieve her dream. Or get close, anyway. But this was because they thought there was only gonna be one season! But what I like about her is she's a strong character, who I relate to. And that's what people love about her: she feels real. So maybe she didn't train her pokémon much. So maybe she wasn't the best mentor to Ash. Is that the problem? That she has real flaws, that no, they might not resolve. But when was the last time you resolved one of your own flaws, hm? I know I haven't, for like...I don't think I ever have, actually. And that's okay. Because I'm only human.

Misty: Ash, wanna go to the movies for my birthday?
Ash: I'm sorry Misty, maybe tomorrow?
Three Weeks Later
Misty: ASH WE STILL HAVENT GONE TO THE MOVIES
Ash: MISTY I NEED TO GET THAT NEW BADGE, THE DIAMOND BADGE

And that is basically the entire plot of Pokémon Live
Also, Misty should totally try miso caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, that's what I was imagining the whole way through

That was really...I don't know how to explain it. I felt projected into the story, as if I was Ash, and I was looking for Misty. I could feel the trees dragging against me, the scrapes and cuts just beginning to hurt, her weight draped against me.
It just felt so, well, real.
