This reminded me of a quote, actually: 'I am old, Gandalf. I don't look it, but I am beginning to feel it in my heart of hearts. Well-preserved indeed! Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean: like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.' That seems a lot like what Merlin is feeling, especially if you substitute Gandalf for Arthur.

I like what you've written so far! I'd never thought about it, but it makes sense that Merlin would feel a connection to the Fisher King. You did a good job of showing Merlin's emotions here. I'm excited to see him and Arthur's conversation. Thanks for writing this!
