That was great, Temari is one badass gal

absolutely amazing. it sounds funny, at first- a boy hiding his fathers porn stash. but at the same time it's incredibly caring; he's still looking out for his dad, even after death. his mother knowing about it was sweet, how she knew but never told, letting his dad fear of her discovering it until his death day- how yoshino. the whole thing was bittersweet, and it would be amazing if one day you came back and expanded on it. the manner in which the piece was done was wonderful. it conveys adolescence and growing up and just gah. I loved it.

I have so much more love to convey to you in your other stories but will start here because 1) it's funny-you write comedy very well; 2) it's about Shikamaru, Temari, Yoshino, and Shikaku; 3) in-character; from my experience in reading ShikaTema fics I don't always find the build up to the romantic moments credible, but this was fine; Temari was hilarious 4) I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you!

I had to venture to read this story after your author's note about not liking how it turned out. I have been curious if author's ever feel this way and still post, so thank you for mentioning this, overcoming your doubts, and doing so.

It turns out this story about the hidden secret of what's in Nara, Shikaku's box as quite entertaining. Indeed, I enjoyed it very much. After seeing the episode, I have been intrigued at what could be in there. I agree the death and re-possession of something so personal and precious to his father could have been a very emotional and soul revealing story for Shikamaru, but eventually, in the aftermath, there is a need to overcome the sadness, move on, and and hold dearly the fond memories to share for the future. In this respect, I think comedy was a nice way to go.

The comical surprises came with perfect timing and with a very crafted delivery. I even had fun in my mind with the title: "Heirlooms," as if expecting this was something to be handed down! Thanks for sharing!

Woohoo, new story! Thank you for posting it. I can see what you mean about the depths not explored, but just because the story doesn't go there doesn't make it shallow. A touch of humor alongside the grief makes it more palatable; it left the vignette bittersweet instead of achingly mournful. Yoshino's appearance may be brief but it leaves a big impression of her character here. Temari and Shikamaru feel true to their characters, too.

ahh. it's been so long since i read any fanfic. i was hunting around for old favorites, and i found your shikatema stories again! all just as good as i remember them being. seriously, you do an incredible job of making the characters feel real and nuanced, unlike many other writers who don't (or can't) take the couple extra steps to really delve a little further and portray characters in a way that feels truly human and believable. you do such good things with shikamaru and temari (one of my all time otps) and I'M SO THANKFUL. i'm so happy that this story is up, because it means you're still relatively active. it also shows that you haven't lost your touch, because this was just so fun to read. a really lovely expansion of a brief gag in the manga.

also, you MUST have read the infinite tsukiyomi chapter... and seen shikamaru's own little dream... which consequentially made the entire shikatema fandom collectively scream with joy. (that's what i did, anyway.) i'm dying to know your interpretation of that gorgeous little moment, or at least, how it might affect anything else you write in the future. basically, i'm selfishly asking you to please keep writing more awesome shikatema fanfic to satiate my undying thirst for more material to fangirl over. YOU'RE JUST SO GOOD. YOU ARE MY FAVORITE. there. i said it. sorry that this isn't much of a review for this story, but i just had to let you know that you're awesome and you've done great things for me and the many other shikatema fans out there who've had the fortune to read your work. keep it up!

I thought you didnt have time to invest in free entertainment? It was kind of pompous of you to say that in the first place - to potential fans of your so-called manga. After all, they are the people who will be making your salary one day, if you ever do release your manga that is.
