i feel like this ron will be a lot more mature, and more understanding about harrys aversion to his fame

This story is already making me giddy. I am an absolute Ron fan and twenty years of him being pushed aside and dismissed has made me into a fierce reader of fics that give him the spotlight, or at least a fair portrayal. I'm glad I found yours!

Your writing is very simple and clean, and doesn't bother with too many words - which is pretty much the entire point of your fanfic, really. Taking away Ron's ability to speak may not seem like much at first, but then you have to ponder. How does this influence his brothers' opinions? It looks like the twins are rather supportive of him, and Percy seems to be as well (I've always treasured the headcanon that Percy used to be an absolute mother hen when he was younger, always fussing over his younger siblings before finding the dang Ministry). There's already the fact that people think it stems from a curse or something...

And also, this means that all the witty retorts, comforting jokes and bickerings with his friends will have to happen another way. And how can he express his insecurities? Of course, he can write them down - but that means he has time to ponder what he'll be saying, he has time to feel embarrassed by what he writes... My, the possibilities.

I just thought I'd leave this review to encourage you - this story has a very nice premise and it'd be a shame to not have more. The April Fools chapter made me chuckle too. Here's to all the future interactions this little AU may provide!

It's... It's an update! Wow! I'll be honest, I had not expected that this story would be updated again. And I'm not sure what I did to deserve being mentioned, but thanks :) I'm very happy to see that you're working on this story again, because it's always such a shame when a great story is abandoned, especially before it got a chance to properly begin.
I do hope that Hermione/Harry will come with the idea to learn sign language. Back to this chapter, before I get ahead of myself. I did wonder if you were going to put Ron in another House, but Gryffindor still fits so well. I'm curious to see when changes are going to become more apparent due to Ron's muteness. At least he can't argue with Hermione like this... That's sad. But I'm sure everyone will get used to Ron soon enough.

This is absolutely amazing! Mute!Ron is such an original idea, and I love the way Harry's sticking up for him already :) I can't wait to see where this story goes!

have ron be a little different since he cant talk he would not keep putting his foot in his mouth, and maybe he could learn nonverbal spell, maybe a few at a young age.

Oh my god what, I just read this whole story and then this chapter and it just happens to be April Fool's Day today haha. That has to be fate :P Still, you said that the next chapter would be up by the end of the weekend, and now it's a year later and still no new update... Unless that was an April Fool's day joke as well XD Anyway, I really like this story. It's original and I'm very interested to see where you're going to go with this, and how this is going to change history. Oh, and if Ron's muteness turns out to have a special reason or cause, and if he perhaps, very maybe, will be able to speak at some point, that would be very interesting to see as well. But that's all in the future, first we're going to see how Ron is going to deal with life at Hogwarts. Well, that is, if there's ever going to be an update... I would love to see another chapter, but it's been a year, so...

Please... delete the previous comment that is for another fanfiction. I accidently pushed the back button and didn't realize that it was a different story.

You have a lot of potential in here but there are a couple of things that I just can't get over. First of all no intelligent person who is plotting world revolution would let their journal be read. Second of all we have not even heard of this journal yet so it's more than a bit Deus ex Machina. How are we supposed to believe that Blaise who has known Harry for less than a week would know about this if we didn't. And thirdly: ANY eleven year old would put as much protection around their journal/diary that was possible and you can't tell me that Harry doesn't know some doozies. I locked mine up so much that you couldn't even open the thing (counterproductive and foolish considering it was just stories but still it's what I did).
On the other hand I like their agreement with Blaise BUT I think it was rushed. These characters are still human eleven year olds right? In this it's more of a matter of spacing. If Blaise became curious from sleeptalking (which is probably not enough to give away plots of revolution or at least not so that Blaise is the only one in their dorm who knows) and thus offered a truce sort of companion friendship with the two right about now that would work. Frankly Blaise would probably not go to the two with his suspicions about what is really going on until much later when he has a better view of their character. There is no rush for him, he has enough time to see if Harry is one of those shoot first burry the bodies later type of person when it comes to his secrets getting out. Also I really doubt that any eleven year old would be so quick in preforming the unbreakable vow in such a serious manner especially considering how early in their relationship is, the lack of rush time and that frankly this would have been more powerful if Blaise was their casual friend for awhile, maybe even a year or two and then when the action heated up and Ron and Harry weren't sure if they could trust him he turned around and offered the vow.
So I like what you are doing but you are falling into both the pacing trap that many authors face. It's something that you need to work on but once you have down I think you will make a lot of good work.

Why is it that THIS is the year everyone I know is playing April Fools jokes?
