First of all, I must compliment you on your wonderful, wonderful writing. Both your artistic (phrasing & overall style) and your technical grasp on the language (grammar, spelling and such) are simply superb. You rarely see such craftsmanship in fanfiction. So, for that alone: thank you!

For all that I never thought of this paring before reading your fic, I can only concur: those two are really, really great together. Maybe not in canon, with that injustive that Hancock is written as there, but the way you write them? Absolutely. I think I won't be able to not als least background-ship them in any of your storyverses from now on.

And so my second laud goes to your amazing characterizations. I especially owe you a second heartfelt thanks for writing Hancok as an actual person, and not a caricature of one reduced to a tool of comedic relief that she sadly seems to have been degraded to in canon. Of course she wears a carefully crafted mask and has her issues, how couldn't she with a past like hers? But you see (and thus let us see) through all that and give that woman the credit she is due. Really, thank you!

On a similar note, I appreciated how you both explained and rationalized Hancock's crush on Luffy. Of course it's silly, but it's also so, so understandable and human. Mihawk doesn't coddle her about it; silence or brutal honesty respectively are that man's two default states, apparently. "Harsh but true" alternatively comes to mind. And yes, he sometimes comes across of a jerk for it, the boorish man (thank you for that phrase, Hancock, and apologies for the changed context. ;) ).

But he also doesn't tear her down or blatantly ridicules her for it either, and so that crush (along with a good part of the reasons behind it) still gets resolved and she rather naturally grows out of it.
(And for all that he'll never admit it, I'm sure Mihawk is downright glad for it, because that crush must have galled him /so much/, and you he won't convince me otherwise. ;P)

Needless to say, I'm an absolute fan of both the character development and personal growth. (Even though it was noticeably more Hancock's turn with that instead of Mihawk's - ah, but his turn will come, muahaha!)

Actually, seeing stoic Mihawk struck utterly speechless by his sudden fatherhood, was a marvellous start to that. Point to Hancock - who motherhood suits amazingly well indeed. I'm so happy to see that it helped her shed her past entirely and find her resolve and purpose in life.

... Also, daddy!Mihawk is an utterly precious image, and I'll eternally love it! Baby Sparrow is (head)canon or me now.

I truly thank you for this masterpiece. I just started to ship them recently, but DAMN that was one of the best choices I ever made. I kid you not, this fanfiction has made my day for weeks now, and I don't even care that it's a crack pairing.
