I assumed somewhere in all of these eight chapters would be an author's note explaining your writing style. The "insert yourself here" is clear enough, but nowhere do you explain how I'm supposed to read those slash letters. The confusion inherent there completely pulls the reader out of the story. This second-person point of view is a valid writing style, and I would read more up on it before attempting this type of story again.
