Second time through, I think.

As a stand alone story it started out good, but then you quoted the show for most of the eight chapters it took before Buffy got her memories from heaven back. Even then the cannon material was still quoted if re arranged for the last half. So if I was to judge it as a stand alone story it had a decent opening chapter with the last three, or four depending on if you count the epilogue as its own chapter, really stepping out on your own. But even then you still quoted willow's lines except with Spike.

Judging the story as the opening of what seems to be a trilogy its a decent fist act. You have successfully established the world and you nest installment should create a big change, which I am looking forward to reading.

As you haven't introduced your own spin on any of the charters telling you that I enjoyed them is more a statement of enjoyment of the show. But the story aspects you have added are interesting to me. The intended. That great way to explain Spike's seeming humanity. The first Good as a twin of the First Evil, while not original in concept was a great addition to the fannon lore. I even like the way you've made slayers immortal. It actually feeds into an idea of mine that Buffy takes place in the same world as Highlander. I'm not sure if I would recommend the show as it doesn't seem to have aged well, but browsing the wiki wouldn't be so bad.

I wish I could offer you more of a review but this story reads like its a recap of the show in preparation for the story you actually wanted to write. But it was also entertaining enough that I am defiantly going to read the next installment. Thank you for the story.

wow this is totally brilliant.

I absolutely love the story is in one of the best I've read so far as far as the plot goes I absolutely love the interaction between Spike and Buffy I truly wish show was more like that and I can't wait to read the sequel to this! Good job I just finished I'm currently looking to to see if there's a sequel.

Once again, I enjoyed this version a lot better she still has the same insecurities she still took her anger about the woman out on Spike but at the same time she at least appreciates that he's attempting if only the show would've been more like this. It's one of the things I find difficult about watching the later seasons she forgave Angel for everything. Spike is the more for her than Angel ever thought about doing even without his soul. And yet she treats them so harshly in the show, yes I absolutely love this version

Wow, I loved this from the start but it took a completely unexpected direction at the end... I've never read a better ending, not one that made me this happy. I'll probably be in a good mood for a week straight cuz of this xD

I agree this is the best kiss between Buffy and Spike. While reading this it made me remember that I always wondered why Spike's accent didn't slip back to William's ones.

i absolutely loved the ending! the whole story was great but the ending made me getity. lol.

I see that you tried your best at the end but a lot of the emotional impact is lost due to Buffy being in love with Spike rather than using him like she does in canon. Nothing you could do about that unfortunately without completely changing g the story so don't worry too much.

So oddly enough I was asking about this story in the help me find fic forum. After I had already opened a new window of it to start rereading lol. :) amazing work . now on to part 2.

So... I wonder if he's going to go fight for his soul after this?
