Oh wow! That was amazing and also incredibly wrenching! An interesting take on this kind of story - it is usually Raph in Donnie's role but I really loved the different angle. Well done!

Wow. O.o
That... I don't know what to make of this one. It was upsetting. I should be used to the emotional impact your stories bring by now, yet, atlas I feel it like a sucker punch time and time again! This is a wonderful story about jealousy, guilt, and forgiveness, SS. Very sad, as well.
Amazing work as always!
Cheers! your red writing rebel

LilNinjaWolf chapter 1 . 2/24/2014
Very well done here Seeker! I love how it all came together and how the "If anything ever happens to you, I get to lead!" amplifies the guilt and regret Don had for a prank gone wrong and how he had to tell Leo at the end. Having Leo's knowledge and acceptance of the whole incident is a nice ending at forgiveness between the two.

Awesome story seeker I can see how what Donnie said could have come back to haunt him
MsMarvelDuckie chapter 1 . 2/16/2014
Oh, man why do you always do this? I'm in tears typing this. Just- so sad. Sometimes the truth is worse than the lie. But sometimes, it sets us free. Maybe he needed that.

Whoa. What a heartfelt story. Yes, I can see Donnie feeling guilty for his little prank and wanting to make it up to Leo. I loved the mantra of, "If anything happens to you, I get to lead!" that was repeated throughout the story and lent clarity to Don's intentions and his guilt. This was very well done, Seeker, and I commend you for writing it. You're truly awesome and I can't wait for more stories by you.

Fantastic little story, wonderfully written with excellent atmosphere. Certainly left me with tears. I hope that we get to read more great stories like this from you in the future. You certainly have talent.
Novus Ordo Seclorum chapter 1 . 2/15/2014
This was gorgeous, Seeker. There is much to love! There were more than a few eloquent turns of phrase in this one, from describing their reflections like 'dusty ghosts' in the junkyard, to the way you depicted the blood on the dogs as black and 'garnet.' Little things like that really make the story pop and stand out in a very good, very positive way. It was great and I very much enjoyed those flourishes!

As for the story itself, it was beautiful. What I liked most was that the memory Donnie is thinking about just before he dies is seemingly trivial. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter all that much-I mean, sure, Leo got hurt, but he recovered and continued to lead. But the important thing, what makes it so impactful, is that Donnie never forgave himself. Even though the dogs breaking loose didn't lead to a greater tragedy (and it easily could have; it was a dumb move) it changed everything in some ways-his relationship with Leo, his subconscious thoughts/feelings, etc. That he would reflect on such a moment just before death is very fitting and appropriate.

Wonderful job as usual. The writing is very well done and the storyline hits hard and with a degree of precision. FF needs more stories like this! Awesome work!

Donnie survives, and nothing you say will convince me otherwise. *Curls up in a corner and cries*
