This was such an enjoyable read, shame you lost the inspiration you've had me cracking up!

I love the way Luffy thinks and interacts with others. I'm glad you kept him meeting Shanks too, even if its in a different place and time. Luffy wouldn't be Luffy with out his hat.

I can understand the not crawling thing. I never crawled as a baby. I sat on my bum and used my front to legs to pull myself forward. My parents say it's because I was super smart and wanted to keep my hands free, but I just think it is biased as they are parents who love bragging about their kids.

Keep up the great work!

Please come back and finish this, or put a summary of how you planned to finish this. I'm really in love with it and I'm sure you're busy but even if it's a one sentence summary while you're listening to music or something would be great.

I was kinda hoping that you would do something different than sticking to canon with Luffy meeting Shanks and eating the Gum Gum fruit. I know it's the most defining event in Luffy's life, but you've already completely changed it by having him raised by the Whitebeard pirates. It also seems a little unnecessary since Luffy's already been inspired by Whitebeard's stories, and you could easily give him a different Devil Fruit since they would be traveling through the Grand Line. Maybe Thatch finds the Dark Dark Fruit early or keeps it a secret and gives it to Luffy as a present for when he sets off on his own?

I like the pacing of this story. The early childhood years don't drag on unnecessarily but it's still super cute. The papa!Whitebeard scene in this chapter made me melt inside.

I just saw another fic that had took more than a few elements from this first chapter (haven't bothered with the rest) including the giant bottle. There were some changes but not enough to not be from this. "The Beginnings of a Future Pirate King" by xXDia-RoseXx was what it was. Just thought it odd since I'd just finished reading yours. I'm not sure if permission was involved or if it's just a coincidence, but... well, yours was here first and is better written despite not being as long.
