I'm so glad Spock found out! This is why time travel gives me a headache though. Spock believes as he does because of Surak, but Surak wouldn't have come up with his philosophies without Spock having shown him the philosophies that he already believed because of Surak and now I'm dizzy. Goodnight.

I am enjoying the scenes on the Enterprise. McCoy especially seems so in character. I'm too tired to say this eloquently, but the bottom line to me is that since I already know a lot about the story on the planet, the bits on the ship and seeing the story through the eyes of those not on Vulcan is particularly interesting.

Stringing together random thoughts: Well written (as always). Loving the TOS references and the give and take between McCoy and Kirk. Any thought on where this fits into the TOS universe time-wise? Just wondering because of the implied uneasy association between Kirk and Spock.

ANND, I thought I had a decent vocabulary, but had to look up anneal. New word noted!

I just finished reading this story and enjoyed every word. The characters are just as they should be and the adventure was pure star trek. I did guess that the youngster was going to turn out to be Surak - but loved how Spock didn't figure thataout till he got back to the Enterprise. Great writing - thanks for posting.

I love how spot-on your characterizations are!

You know, I do feel McCoy to be slightly more cantankerous than doctors usually are...then again, most doctors don't deal with Kirk and Spock, and he might treat most other people with his ingrained politeness (when and whom he chooses, of course).
The dialogue in this chapter was really good, as was the Scotty bit in the last.
Yeah...and Surak- that's not hard to guess, but it still is a great 'last word reveal' ;-)
So, all in all another wonderful story of yours. Keep writing!
