Your readers should be grateful that you put work into this at all, not to mention how light and humorous this is to enjoy. No writer is truly obligated to write what the reader wants! Whoever called you a psycho is definitely over stepping bounds. I for one greatly enjoy this story. I never read the manga that you're talking about but this is an adorable story that's a wonderful break from dark and depressing stories that ship these two characters.
