Kate is a happy! flirty! cuddly! drunk. Who knew? The scene in the doorway is believable. Drunk! Kate has enough sense to know she's going out on a limb but takes the chance anyway. Great to see Gibbs thrown off balance but recovering just enough to entertain the possibility. I like the way you leave the ending open. Lovely little Kibbs tidbit.

Love this! Let's see if I can make any sense...Flirty!Kate is adorable, I have to say, and I like how comfortable she is around Gibbs. Just, all the action tags, - Kate laying her head on his shoulder, then nestling back into his side on the ride home - I like that a lot. & his subsequent realization that Abby is not the only one who treats him "with such casual warmth", can I just. *sighh* Gibbs' concern for her need be mentioned because it had me go 'aw', even if all he does is frown and then convince her to go home because that's best for her. The entire scene in her apartment building is lovely and now I have Yankee White-feels because of 'Please?' and no, not acceptable : I could go, 'write MOAR', but for some reason, I like this the way it is & the cliffhanger, whether she'll call or not, makes for a really good ending (even if I feel that that's beside the point, her calling him, because of this moment they shared).
Oh! Meant to say, the present tense works really well here; love how close I feel to what's happening. Okay, done with my spiel :D
