Wow this is great! I like your Yamato in this story at least he takes no crap! In addition I'm glad he's not even interested in Suzuka, who I always thought of as just a stuck up cow!

I mean seriously why did Kouji Seo want us to constantly side with Suzuka and try to make Yamato the unreasonable one? I mean such things do not encourage me to respect Seo as a storyteller or even a person.

This is a great fic and the first 'Different Yamato' I ever came across in this fandom.

I saw D38's review and I agree with him/her you should've had Megumi defend Yuka a bit more also for all her trickster ways she does have a caring side to her and at least Yuka isn't the sort who gets people into trouble or assaulted for her own amusement like Mitsune 'Kitsune' Konno from Love Hina. I'd like to see sometime Yuka earn Yamato's respect and she strikes me as the sort who might ask him what made him the way he is.

Also it is refreshing to see a Yamato who isn't even interested in Suzuka, also he is right in a lot of his comments on Suzuka that she is stuck up and ignorant, passing judgement on him without knowing.

Ayano is just the same comparing Yamato to Suzuka when in cannon it hurt him but in this fic it plainly offends Yamato. Also respect to COBRASTEVE, I feel strongly that Ayano should at least act like a responsible adult and guardian because so far she has failed to act like one at least regarding Suzuka.

Also I'm relieved Miho isn't piling on in this fic.

As for Yasunobu I really never liked him he wasn't a good friend to Yamato at all with incidents like how he set Yamato up in the baths and getting him into trouble etc. A REAL friend would think on how such a thing would reflect on the friend, its plain that Yasunobu was only thinking of himself and not how what he did might impact Yamato. Issei Hyodo from High School DxD may have been a pervert but he was never the sort to leave anyone hung out to dry or wantonly get a friend in trouble.

I hope at some point Ayano and Suzuka will wake up to the truth of the kind of person Yasunobu really is and what really happened in the baths all those years ago.

Either way this is a great fanfic and I'm hoping for a Yamato x Honoka pairing!

I have read a lot of fan fiction, and after reading the entire series then this FF, WOW! This was a real page turner. Couldn't step away for anything! I'm really pleased with how this is turning out and am very happy with your change in pace from the original. I can't wait to see whats going to follow.

This is a great Suzuka AU and I'm liking it a lot, sure hope you haven't abandoned it.

Now for a bit of constructive criticism about chapter 11 I think Megumi would have tried a bit harder to defend Yuka but at the same time not condoning her shenanigans. Yuka does show a caring side to her and I'm surprised you didn't have the one character closest to her Megumi bring that up and tell Yamato about it, even point out he has yet to see it or something.

I'm really enjoying this fic its pretty good to see a Yamato who overcame his awkwardness, has at least some self respect and didn't just go seeking everybody's approval.

Also its nice to see him have real friends in Honoka, Nana, Miki and later Megumi. Its also nice to see Miho getting along with Yamato and getting her jealousy under control. As you might guess I didn't like Yasunobu because of all the trouble he gets Yamato into and all that crap! That's not what I call a real friend.

Also int his and your LH fanfics including For His Own Sake and in particular An Alternate Keitaro Urashima, the main character is accused by a person or persons of being arrogant. I mean what the hell for? Why is having at least some self respect, arrogant? There is a world of difference!

If Yamato decide not to join, would he become friends with Kobayakawa?

I've been reading this story for a while and I really like it. I honestly never read the manga but I only saw one episode of Suzuka but that was years ago. And I honestly I looked up these characters and man I honestly wonder why Yamato in canon put up with so much of everyone's bullshit? If it were me I would be kicking ass's and not put up with any of this.

As for Yasunobu when is that jackass gonna get it that Yamato doesn't like him and doesn't want anything to do with him? Also Suzuka needs to stop being such a bitch and grow up. Honestly Ayano is an idiot as well since she doesn't even look at the whole picture concerning Yamato.

I hope Yamato doesn't join the track team as he should stick with Kendo and that way he doesn't put up with any of those idiots. Hope to see the next chapter soon.

I love these kind of stories because sometimes harem manga main characters just bug the crap out of me. They're all the same template; no confidence, dense, prone to accidental pervert moments and do absolutely nothing to stand up for themselves. Especially Yamato from 'Suzuka' and Keitaro from 'Love Hina'. I never understood the appeal of the main girls in these manga (Suzuka and Naru respectively). They may be intelligent, driven and beautiful but they have terrible personalities. (I'm especially not really fond of the tsundere type, or at least the ones who react violently towards anyone who makes them express emotions) The author of Suzuka seems to like the type of girl Suzuka is, since in his other work "Kimi to Iru Machi' has a girl who acts similar, which prompts me to ask, after all the trouble the main guy characters go through for these girls, and all the problems trying to cater to their whims, why would they take them back after breaking up? It's like guys in harem manga aren't allowed to have respect for themselves.
Keep up the good work, and I can't wait for some of these stories to update again! Thanks for writing!

I love this fic about a Yamato who is stronger against adversity.

In fact I never really liked Ayano, not just how she compares Yamato to Suzuka, but how she ikes to belittle Yamato and how she ignores Suzuka's wrongs. In fact Yamato was well justified in calling her out in chapter 5. I mean for pity's sake! Yamato can't do right with Ayano under almost under any circumstances!

Also in chapter 5 Yamato was justified in calling Suzuka on her foolishness and how she insulted him. Also Suzuka never tries to understand that Yamato is just saying that its not healthy to scrabble around just trying to please others while neglecting yourself.

I liked how Yamato stood up to Ayano in Chapter 6 because nothing of what she did was justified and she has some NERVE thinking that Yamato does nothing but insult her and Suzuka when she does so much to insult him! I also liked how Yamato stood up to Ayano again in chapter 7 saying how he would have been ashamed if he been allowed to have been pushed around.

I also hated Yamato's parents, I mean they quite petty and abusive and Yoshio Akitsuki is one of the poorest excuses for a father, I ever saw in any anime or manga. I mean with how Yamato's younger siblings like to insult him, mock him and all that crap. Honestly any GOOD parent would have DISCIPLINED them! Yoshio and Kotono never discipline Rie and Hirakazu!

Also I liked how Yamato handled Yuka in chapters 1, 3 and 4.

So Yamato is already friends with Honoka? Well it was good to see her overcome her shyness and talk to him and in turn he became friends with Nana which I think is great!

I never liked Yasunobu to be honest because of how often he gets Yamato into trouble, like how he stabbed Yamato in the back in the baths five years and am I alone in not thinking that counts as friend at all? Also Yamato in this fic was well justified in being furious with Yasunobu and I don't get why Yasunobu is still bothering Yamato even after Yamato made it clear he wants nothing to do with him.

I'm glad Miho knows the truth even if her mother doesn't.

I wonder how Yamato's friendship with Miki will affect her friendship with Suzuka?
