The author's note is encouraging. Too many fics have the main character get chummy with ORC just because they fetishize the girls. It gets repetitive. Lots of characters selling, or having their souls stolen because the characters they write are too dumb, afraid, or not enterprising enough to consider alternatives, when they have more choices than to be a chess piece.
