Your detail is just enough to set the scene, but you don't drag it out- there is something crisp and refreshing about your writing that reminds me of hearing a grandfather clock's pendulum swing back and forth; hypnotizing in it's tranquil beat. I love the line: "The Colonel turned away angrily, as a lance of jealously pierced him. He felt its contagion seep and spread outward, effusing his body with a possessive bitterness that left him feeling helpless and resentful." Fantastic! I can't wait for more. :) |
