This one of those stories which had deserved far more attention. The characterisation is on point and it's exactly as long as it has to be. I am mostly reading AU and enjoying this stories for being precisely that, but this one could be canon. This talk was just that much needed.

I think that, if a storyteller is to write fanfiction, he or she is in the position of a screenwriter and thus has only one real rule to obey, which is to stay in character; and this is what you did. Furthermore, with a story such as this one where the premises are guilt and forgiveness, one can easily fall for the sugary side. At all critical points of the narration, you made the right decisions. The result has just enough amount of sweetness in it. Kudos and thanks for writing!

Thank you for writing this. I'm always looking for more fics like this, and so few capture Snape's personality correctly. They always have him instantly soften and love Harry, which I never see happening. Your portrayal I felt was spot on.
