Reviews for Skyrim: Dovahkiin
oOAshookaOo chapter 79 . 7/22
Honestly, this wasn't the sequel i had hoped for. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good story. But it just isn't about Ailirah and Martin. I guess i am glad for knowing what happened to them, but i really wanted to see them again. Or well read them again. I guess i am being a choosy beggar?
CaptainAbsolution chapter 74 . 1/19
Well, she was a bitch at the end. Forcing her to bow, like a Tyrant, like the World-Eater.
CaptainAbsolution chapter 47 . 1/19
Well, what a bitch she was this chapter. And shes the hero? Miraak might be a better hero then her.
AThief chapter 45 . 1/19
I have to say, I loved the story, its a great Skyrim one. But, I don't really care much about the main character. She seems like a grade a fool most of the time. Hopeful she will get better...or not.
DeadChickenRunning chapter 13 . 2/14/2019
While rereading to help soothe the cravings for more Skyrim, came across "with a child's confidence that nothing bad could happen to him in his father's house."
If this was a "Master of Assassins" breadcrumb dropped this long ago... you are reaching Eiichiro Oda levels of planning. If not, you are reaching Eiichiro Oda levels of callback. If I could praise you more for this nugget, I would. This story continues to be every bit as good (and better) as I remember when I first started reading.
StarWarsSkyrim51 chapter 79 . 9/16/2018
I liked it.
Neeros chapter 79 . 6/27/2018
Such a fantastic story. Thank you for this...
RevealFanatic chapter 79 . 1/14/2018
I feel a feeling of emptiness. It's like it's the ending of Code Geass all over again and I don't know what to do with myself.
Where do I start.
This story has great overarching themes. I love the theme of the wheel turning and how well everything goes back to the beginning of the story with the resters. Life and death and the cycle thereof. Bellona gets smarter throught the story, and this is well exectuted, because Bellona is not an idiot before hand. A lot of writers exaggerate the characters flaws at the beginning of a story to show development when most of the time it is unnecessary. It's better than having no flaws for sure, but not better than having a balance, which is what this story has.
Aetherus is a good example of a bubbly OC done well. I was just having a debate with someone last week over how I hate "happy go lucky" OCs because I've never seen one not being obnoxious. It would seem I have been proven wrong. It also helps that he functions like a normal character if that makes any sense. The universe isn't using him for comic relief, and he doesn't magically resolve conflict because he's the happy character. I guess I was thinking about "Happy Anime Girl of Friendship" syndrome.
The feeling of worldbuilding this story has is incredible. It makes it feel alive.
I also like what you did with Bellonas family history. Similar things have been done before, but there's nothing wrong with that because it hasn't been done so well. It's annoying when people turn their nose up at the obvious fantasy motifs just because it's "been done". There's a reason the lost royal line theme became popular to begin with. I think people just lack talent to make these things meaningful. I didn't even see it coming except maybe when Kathutet started bringing up her family history.
I feel like the end was rushed, but I'm happy that it HAS an end. I would say the loose ends here are taking over the empire (for sure), how Delphine will act now that Esbern is dead and she's been scolded, the Resters (Do they even know what Bellona is up to? Did she just tell them "bye- going to Cyrodil), Aetherus and his secret society of free Alinor or something like that, is a big one (still don't know what it's about and it seems terribly interesting). Also wonder what Balgruff says when she got back and about her heading to Cyrodil.
The scene in Imperial City was quite epic, btw.
I have a feeling if the story continued that Aetherus would die. I don't know why I have that feeling.

This might be fanfic #1. I'll have to wait till the post-story afterglow feeling wears off so I can think about this objectively. Definitely a top 3. I could recommend this to someone who hasn't played Skyrim and they would probably enjoy it. It's the #1 TES fanfic I've ever read for sure.

I'm crying about Aduin now
RevealFanatic chapter 76 . 1/14/2018
I actually like all the dragons in this story. That almost never happens. Dragons are typically too stuffed up, too cryptic and mystical, or too stupid and funny.
RevealFanatic chapter 74 . 1/14/2018
This chapter will be reread a few times. Haha, Delphine face when she was extrapolating had me laughing. It's great that Bellona doesn't let Delphine get to her anymore.
The pacing of this story has been absolutely excellent. I love the interaction between Elsif and Bellona. I guess this story is taking the route of "Elsif grows up and becomes a leader". The negotiations were just PERFECT. I always hated it in game, having to choose between Riften and Markarth... geez. Plus I didn't WANT Delphine to know about Parthunax. It ticked me off so much to get back to Sky Haven Temple and have them be like "Oh no we can't be friends". I also get the feeling that Esbern is some sort of doormat and has a "Yes, Delphine" response drilled into him. I like Esbern though. I wonder if there are any actual Blades left who cut Delphine off secretly so they wouldn't die in reckless missions to steal things from dangerous embassies... she would be SO hurt about that, but if I was a Blade, I would totally try to mutiny. She seems pretty crushed already in this chapter though. Enough for her to wake up and realize that she doesn't know what she's doing? Maybe. If she has these dragon like attributes then maybe she can be OK with Bellona after being defeated.
The use of political statements have been very good in this fic. Even the small ones.. Especially the small ones, although the major ones of embassy burning and amulet wearing are very exiting.

"formality on the part of Hermaeus Mora." Haha. I love the characterization of the Daedra in this.
RevealFanatic chapter 54 . 1/14/2018
This is better and more dramatic than I expected. Really like this chapter. Dramatic reveals really are my cup of tea.
RevealFanatic chapter 53 . 1/14/2018
The vigilants aren't as angry with Bellona as I expected, and Bellona is showing maturity is admitting to herself she was wrong. She could have been whiny and defensive and get angry about it, but she didn't. I'm glad she has maturity and the Vigilants are not crazed fanatics.
"Yes I'm *that* one"
I still like the way she speaks.
RevealFanatic chapter 52 . 1/14/2018
COOL... I mean, oh, no I hope she's ok.
I wonder if Kathutet was scouting information on Bellona.
The Dagon quest in the game was so... disappointing.
Dagon is like "Hey, kill this nerdy edgy dude and I'll give you this dagger"
"No. Ok then fight this handful of Dremora... or just run away if you're not strong enough- that too."
Or if you do kill the edgy mythic dawn dude... Mehrunes Dagon gives you a dagger. So boring. I was expecting it to go somewhere and be interesting.
