This was quite well written, though you may want to reconstruct some parts of this fic, like make it clearer of sorts. Its kinda sketchy and a little confusing - the transitions, but i think with a little editing, it could be better.

Though i think this fic has portrayed the dark parts of shinobi life quite nicely. Many fics just go with the fun and cheery attitudes and stuff like that, but i think this fic has nailed down the darkness pretty well. Kinda refreshing in a way.

This. Is. Amazing! I love it! It's amazingly written, the perspective on the shinobi life is interesting, Kakashi not being able to get Gai out of his head, and the overall creepiness at the end, is just pure awesome.

When I read that last part, "In the end, no one asked Gai, how come you didn't starve to death?" made me immediately think of cannibalism. Is that what you were getting at, that he started eating the other genin to survive? I mean, it's kind of hinted at I suppose throughout, with the parts saying how Gai kills with a smile, etc, etc. If it was the intent... I love it! I love it because it's so freaking creepy.

I like how you made this story dark yet also had a pinch of "romance", for a lack of a better word, with Kakashi, again, not being able to get Gai out of his head (even if he doesn't want to think about him).

I think this review has gotten long enough. As I've said throughout this whole thing, I love it! Great job, fantastic story! :)

Wow, I didn't know what to expect when I followed the link from the gaikaka blog on tumblr. It had a warning about dark, alternative character interpretation and everything and I was like, huh, alternative character interpretations? I wonder what that means. Boy, they weren't kidding. This is so different from everything else that's out there! And I love it!

man, i can't tell you how grateful i am for this fic. you just single-handedly restored my interest in this pairing! i've been so bored with the fandom lately. it's so up its own arse over on tumblr with the cutesy little headcanons and shit (turning it into generic pairing number 873335). finally a different interpretation of the characters! finally something that takes their shinobi nature into account, something that addresses the fact that they've killed countless people! i think i love you for this.
