At some point of our lives, we were manipulated by our own families to think and act like them. "Family first" is the greatest rule I've been engraved with. "Be an achiever" is the next one. "Ask yourself what you did wrong" was the final nail on my coffin as I repeatedly questioned myself where I ended up wrong. The thing is, only a few could escape that system. They're called the "Black Sheep" for such a reason. Different. Separated from the herd of white.

My fifth time reading through this and it's still amazing. Every time I think about Blue Exorcist or watch it, even just an episode or two, I find myself needed to reread this. It's so phenomenal, and I don't think your Yukio is too far from the truth either. Call it an alternate universe where Yukio decided to take a little more action.
Anyway, thank you so much for writing this. I'm sure I'll continue to reread it because it's that awesome.

I’ve read this fic hundreds of times, but this sentence makes me laugh every time !

Someone on wattpad recommended this to me a while back.
So popping along, sees the title, goes "oh, this one's supposed to be good!"
And HERE I AM, CRYING MY EYES OUT AT 11PM, WANTING TO AXE-MURDER YUKIO.

Wow, just wow! One of the most emotionally charged fics I've ever read! exquisitely written

Okay... (takes a slow deep breath) where do I begin. Oh yeah! YUKIO OKUMURA! FOR SHAME! What you are doing to your brother is monstrous! If you weren't brothers I'd say, oh to hell with it, this is an abusive relationship. Physically hurts him, blaming him for things out of his control, willingly letting him harm himself, and then saying he loves him afterwards. That being said, this is a great concept. We never really see the effects of shiro's death on Yukio so I love this.

Oh. My. Gosh. I love everything about this story. I was beautifully written and once I starated I just could not stop reading it. You have the characters so well planned out, and the story was so close to what happened in cannon it was very believable. This story had me crying both in frustration with Yukio and all the tragedy. I loved every bit of this and I can't wait to go read the sequel! Thank you so much for one of the best thinks I've read, fiction or published, in months

I love the psychological aspect to this story; you were exceedingly accurate to the point where at times it was almost difficult to read the more emotional parts. Rin’s suicide attempt in particular; I’d seen it done in other stories but it was never as emotionally effective.

I enjoyed Suguro’s line about how Rin may have gotten Satan’s powers but Yukio got his heart. It worked well and truthfully you weren’t that far off canon in his behavior. In the manga, he seems to generally have antisocial personality disorder most of the time. Izumo and Rin were cute in this, most people write them incorrectly making Izumo very OC, having them as a possible pairing was believable. Finally, I just have ti say that the way you wrote Mephisto was truly fantastic and Shiemi summoning Amaimon was an interesting addition.

Dude, did anyone else think of Tohru Adachi? (If so, leave a like )

Jonny Yong Bosch's association with the anime doesn't hurt with this either.
