TheRealHedgy chapter 1 . 2/21
In the 9 years that I've been a KH fan, I've never once considered that the Twilight Town trio could potentially go the rest of their days with no idea of who Roxas is. After reading this twoshot, that thought alone has opened a wormhole in my brain, which I must say is an impressive feat on its own.

I really dig the concept behind this story. The idea of Hayner, Pence and Olette reserving an ice cream for what is essentially an imaginary friend is extremely cheesy and ultimately unrealistic of course, but I feel it perfectly suits what these characters would do. In general, there's something about this trio that makes me feel somewhat warm inside. I also enjoy how the story doesn't glance at just one period of their lives and instead makes the bold move to show how the forgotten memory develops along with them as they grow up. I think this might be one of, if not the only fic that showcases Hayner and Olette has adults, actually. And I for one am always grateful when an author dives deep into a character, unexplored by canon.

There's something uncomfortably real about the trio forgetting even more about Roxas, simply due to the incomprehensible power of time. If they had relatively memory of him to begin with him, it's only natural that they would move on altogether. I really like how you captured that small, but important factor.

The way Olette conjured Roxas' figure into existence was extremely neat and the conversation that followed with him was especially bittersweet. I love that he doesn't linger and the exchange of dialogue doesn't last a while. Giving them just enough time to finalise how strong their connections are was a great move. The story ends on a particularly strong note, leaving Hayner and Olette behind without a single word from either of their mouths. I of course want to know what happens with the married couple, but I also don't feel I need to. With that said, I do have one small issue with the ending and it's the pettiest thing in the world, but I still feel the need to mention it.

"We won't forget you, Roxas! You're still our best friend! Bye!" Would have been a much better send off without the "Bye! at the end, because it makes the sentence feel too casual. I'm aware that this is the nitpickiest piece of criticism imaginable and it hardly harms the scene, but I still felt the need to bring it up.

Other than that, the only critique I have is the word usage is a little basic. Not enough to taint the story by any means, but I felt it was worth pointing out. Also, the opening dialogue was a little flat. I'm guessing that's probably a result of struggling with how to begin a story. I often struggle with writing openings myself and consequentially, they tend to be my least favourite part of anything I write.

In summary though, this was a lovely, somewhat eye opening little tale. I'm always appreciative of slice of life stories and this story certainly delivers on that front. Regarding characterisation, it all seemed fine with me. I could maybe find moments of minor OOCness if I looked hard enough, but that seems unnecessary. Either way, thanks for concocting this fanfic and I hope you'll bring many more endeavours into this fandom. Tata.

FadedPhantom chapter 1 . 5/20/2015
I looooved this so much. So sad! Ugh, and it was really well written. Just a really really good job. I didn't think they were OOC at all, I loved how you wrote all three characters. Great work.

(Also wtf Sora go visit your friends)
Determined-Day-Dreamer chapter 2 . 5/19/2015
Agh! The first part of Four Ice Cream Bars was fantastic on its own, but the second... Aaagh YAJJ! I honestly feel like I want to cry right now... like, my eyes aren't watering up or anything, but I feel like I really want to.

This was so... heartbreaking, but beautiful and sentimental in its own right. The part where Olette started to trace out Roxas' features, talking about his hair and eyes, and the "Light and Darkness together" in his appearance... and the fact that, even after nearly two decades, they still kept all the ice cream? Uuuugh my HEART! ;-;

I wonder how Pence would react if they told him about this? Like... would he remember Roxas, too? I hope he would.

I know have a little headcanon now, though. If Hayner and Olette's next child was a boy, they'd name him Roxas. To kinda... honor his memory, and whatnot.

This makes me want to go play some KH games, or try to write something for KH again. I mean, I've done one fic from a scene in Days, but unfortunately... this series is surprisingly difficult to write for. Personally, anyways. There's just so much going on! *laughs*

Well, as always, it was a beautiful story and a wonderful read! Keep up the fantastic work, you equally-fantastic human! :D
Maverick Flare chapter 1 . 3/21/2015
Hey, nice oneshot. It's really interesting that you decided to explore Roxas' disappearance from the Twilight Town's bunch's side. Roxas' story is one of the saddest of all the entire saga (except for Xion's, maybe) and, when you think about it, his friends can't even remember him 'cause... well, they wee never their friends in the first place. But you explored those lingering feelings in a beautiful way, I applaud. As for the characters being OOC, I think they're fine this way, I would just swap some sentences between Olette and Pence, but for the rest they are fine. Nice work.
Super Shadowsonic chapter 1 . 3/4/2015
I'm surprised no one has reviewed this. This is a very sad and touching story told from the Twilight gang. It sucks but it's great. The story is good the feels are what sucks. Illustrating such a subtle way that feels really powerful. And the understandable ache they feel as they start to forget him completely. This mirrors a scene in Re:coded perfectly about the 'hurt' Sora feels when he goes through castle oblivion. The resolution here is actually pretty similar. Holding on to that hurt because it reminds you of something that's important. And it's even sadder when that hurt starts to fade due to time. This was really well done. Great job.
