I have to confess I was delighted beyond words whenever I realised that Mycroft had gone all the way to Serbia for his little brother (I've always said that he actually cares a whole lot more than he lets on) and I love your take on his journey here. Especially the bit about the rats. I actually laughed out loud.

Best line? "...Mycroft took a few extra moments to break the guide's neck, before hiding him in the shadows and trying hard not to think too hard about rats."
