On one side, I appreciate the purpose behind the fic. On the other side, I guess the best way to put what I felt as I read is, it felt like you glossed over the subject. It kind of feels like the stuff went on with your own Cassie was still a bit too raw emotionally for you, because most of the piece feels more reactionary towards what happened to your friend, rather than carefully and methodically thought out.

This is important to note, because if you ever come back to tackling the issue in a newer work - which I actually encourage you to think about doing - going about it in a more methodical and planned out manner will actually have an even bigger impact on your reader, but also be more memorable, thus succeeding in your actual goal far better. By this I mean not dropping the reader in, but slowly building up the story with falling and rising action, and of course character building.

Something to keep in mind as you develop your bullies is they also have a reason why they target their victims. I'm not saying the victim is to blame for why they are bullied, but more of just saying there are reasons behind why a bully does what they do. One example is feeling jealous of their target and wanting them to fill the way they do, sometimes they are taught to hate certain things by their parents, or they enjoy making themselves better by choosing a target they perceive as weak.

Knowing the reasons also can help those dealing with bullying, as they're able to remind themselves that that person is just jealous, they weren't taught right, but to also be the stronger person. I say this from my own personal experience with bullying, having found myself part of the one and four statistic.

I really hope maybe someday I could save a life, maybe just by giving them a little smile, or say hi, just to let them know they're not invisible and they do matter.
