Guest chapter 5 . 10/17/2019 It's been so long since I re-read this but its still just as fantastic! TuT I love this story so much. Thank you so much for writing it! I hope one day you're able to finish it up |
Celiyan chapter 5 . 6/28/2016 Amazing! I hope you'll continue this one day. |
Chrysanthemvm chapter 5 . 6/19/2016 This is EXACTLY what I was looking for when I got reeled into the fandom. The most idyllic execution of the idea, though, is what I didn't expect. The descriptions starting chapter one got me waaay into the story because the suspense was so tangible! How can you do that with only text?! But what happened next, oh, I just knew this was IT. The next chapters just blew my mind because mixing introspection with horror can lead to such beauties, but add a little loving and I cannot resist inhaling the whole story like a drug. You wouldn't ever have guessed perfection could get even better! How can a fic be so accurately reflective of my desires? I'm smiling like a maniac. I'm just so glad I had the opportunity to read this. I would die to know what follows but I'm sufficiently pleased by reading this far into a perfect story. |
Cabbit and the Weasel chapter 5 . 2/18/2016 Aww jeez, if Billy still ends up dying permanently I'm going to bawl my eyes out. I don't often find zombie/monster/whatever apocalypse stories I think so far i've only read two and they were nerve wracking! In the best possible way though. And I'm really liking where this is going so far, Billy will surely have some growing up to do if he wants to protect Spencer from all thats happening. And the added sexual tension between the two just makes for a good touch! lol, that almost kiss though...is love bringing him back to life?! lol. |
Guest chapter 2 . 9/18/2015 Ooohhh apocalypse |

bruh chapter 5 . 7/16/2015 Please continue! This is worth reading! |
ArtfulSunGodJustified chapter 5 . 2/15/2015 This is literally the best fic I've seen on DTMG. No others can compare to the superiority of the zombie apocalypse, and BJC/Spencer shipping, all thrown together in a beautifully written multi-chapter story. Please update soon. I starve for more. |
punkfluff chapter 5 . 2/12/2015 I think I liked how Spencer seemed to kinda look like a bad a** in this one. Then again, he already does in this story, but still pretty cool, though. Can't wait for more to read, when you have the time. I'll be looking forward to it. :) |
Deanie.Winchester chapter 2 . 11/15/2014 Love it |
AnActualBirb chapter 5 . 9/4/2014 Hiya! Seriously lovin' the story thus far, man! You're doing a fantastic job and I have been obsessing over this fic for a couple day now. Just wow. This one's my new favorite. I noticed it hasn't been updated since May, though? So I was wondering if this is still being continued? Once again, seriously enjoying this story and I hope things are going well for you! |
Stalker-Pickle chapter 5 . 8/8/2014 I demand more! |
gokulex59 chapter 5 . 6/16/2014 I'm an incoherent mess I don't think I'll make sense from this point on I've completely lost the ability to say things. Okay so, let me start by saying there is a lack of decent English fanfictions in this fandom, AO3, LJ and FFnet included, and this is - although I did not read all the fanfictions that came out so far yet but I read most of them, this is the third decent one I've ever run across, and my favorite one so far. And by favorite, I don't mean my favorite in this fandom, I mean FUCKING FAVORITE AMONGST ALL THE PIECES I've READ IN THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS. And these words are not ones I use often for a story that's not published anywhere else apart from FFnet. I don't even remember the story description, I didn't pay much attention, I just clicked - and whatever I imagined when I read the summary did not match what's in the story. It's not a bad thing, total opposite actually, since WHAT'S IN THE STORY IS MORE AWESOME THAN I DARE TO IMAGINE FOR. Like, it's apocalypse, it's ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, how awesome is that? There are a shitload of things I want to say but I'm confused as to which order I should talk about them to be most coherent, so I'll just fly with whatever pops in first. Let's start with the pace. For lack of my capability to find a better word right now, the pace is perfect. It's going in the right speed for the urgency of the plot events in the story but also slow enough to introduce a newly revived and confused and scared Billy and (I could italicize the word if I could) us readers. We've all seen zombie apocalypse movies or stories, but still every story's world is different and must be introduced well and through to the readers - which you practically ace. Pace leads to flow. Okay, I love post-apocalyptic plots in anything, but I wasn't much for online stories set up in a zombie apocalypse because… the flow. Out of every fandom (and one or two original stories I accidentally come across) I've read zombie apocalypse set-up in, none of them really managed the flow. And it's not about pacing or decent writing either; I'm talking about how the grasp on using the writing language and the pace of the events were decent but the words lacked the flow. This story though goes like butter on a just-out-of-oven bread with the perfect balance on emotions and events. The way you write, however, I seriously have no idea how to describe how much I love it. Pace and flow, your amazing selection of words I've already mentioned, but there are more elements regarding to writing. Just above I've mentioned that I love how you balanced emotions and events, and I guess it's better to talk about that first. This story is set in a thriller environment. The plot must go on; there must be urgency in the flow of the events. But also, actual people are suffering through this plot, physically and emotionally, so without those the story would just be an amateur movie scenario. And those emotions has to be told deep and strong, especially if one of the characters have just cmae back from the dead with no clue as to survive or what's going on and the other has practically lost everything and forced to grow strong, and on the top of that is just gifted with one of his valued people suddenly awakening from a corpse statue. However, letting this emotions be deep and flow with the plot all at once is hard, and even more important than it already is for a story with a thriller. Reflecting emotions perfectly is a writer skill, one that I hope to have someday; since one - describing them too long screws both the plot and the flow and hard to relate, and two - for characters' feelings to be empathized by the readers, whatever they are feeling should be described without the name of whatever they are feeling. Picking the right words is already important but with feelings, it becomes to be even more important of a task. But we also need a plot, an urgent series of events, so they need to be perfectly balanced, as if it wasn't hard enough before. And your story, milady, has this perfect balance so far. Characterization, another real damn important part (but which one of these is more important than any other in a writing, really). Especially if this is a fanfiction, you must not clash them with the canon characteristics - don't mind the 'you', I'm talking generic, you yourself pretty much mastered this as well. Further especially, if the original show is a light-aired comedy and you are writing things sharp, strong and deep. I will cut this short, you did it. All of the emotions, reactions, actions and chains of thoughts I can relate perfectly to the canon characters, agree that's the way they would turn out to be if the canon had this story's plot. And they are realistic too, we readers understand the characters; sympathize and empathize with them, be scared and worried and bittersweetly happy with them and get why they acted like 'this' or 'that' whether if you agree or not with them. The plot also have that realism in it. Well, realistic as much as zombies allow. Also, I want to repeat briefly that I idolize the way you describe things without using the titles of things, such as emotions. This is a damned important skill and an obvious sign of a pretty fucking fantastic writer, and more effective in the storytelling. And for the last one, mentioning this because under the fourth chapter you mentioned something like 'look how fast they are into kissing', I must mention I'm very happy with the pace of the feelings' evolution. I mean, Billy realized he'd like to kiss Spencer right there and he almost did it, but there are no 'I'm in love with this guy's out of nowhere. Things will get heated between them later but there is no sudden backflip from 'my lil cousin bro' to 'yay love and lust'. First one step per chapter, then two, then three and… well, you're the author. And, about characters… I LOVE THEM. I ran out of words so please multiple whatever I say by a billion to get closer to what actually I'm feeling, but damn Spencer son. I love how he's strong and can manage to hold himself together in these hard times and save crying to later when he still feels like shedding tears. He lost a lot but he manages surviving just as hard as life gets to him and shall remain my favorite. And Billy, of course, ithe things he has to struggle for are a messed up lot. First there is the thing of him coming from the dead, but that's the least of things he can worry right now. He is new to the horrible scenery of the current world, he doesn't even see horror movies and now here is this; there is his cousin who he wants to protect but is aware he's too scared - which we can relate, it is not easy to wake up from the sweet, easy life you knew into one that's filled with terror, horror and mess to poorly describe it. He is clueless as to what to do, all he knows is that he wants to live (even if it's in his un-dead state), and live with Spencer alive beside him. Also their dialogues and affections toward each other. Really. Won't even try to describe it. (My favorite scene regarding this topic so far is when Billy hugged Spencer and the following conversation, including that 'he doesn't know how to survive, but he knows how to live' decision. Which is also why I decided to take writing lessons to myself from your story, seriously how awesome sentence is that. Great choice of words and shortly and effectively getting the message across. Love it.) And one more - I loved the first chapter to the maximum, enough much to be already hooked, but officially declared myself in love with this story when in second chapter you described corpses with molds and flies and worms. Me likey. |
