Fae908 chapter 1 . 6/23/2018 Awesome fic :) ! |
Codename-SN chapter 1 . 10/9/2016 Loved it. There's no other way I could probably describe it. And this characterization didn't only help you, that I can say for sure. Certainly. |
XavierForest chapter 1 . 6/4/2016 I'm just gonna go around... and read a couple of your stories... |
orphan11111 chapter 1 . 5/15/2016 *smile* The reason why Allen so strongly defends his name. You need a name to be a person. It's an interesting concept, but a true one. Even when talking in hypotheticals, we give the "characters" we are talking about names, because that makes them "people". And when we want to dehumanize people, we take away their name, often by substituting a number. (I guess this is why people can get so worked up over the traditional women-takes-last-name-of-husband thing.) Poor Allen, to grow up without a name, to grow up as someone viewed as /less/ than human. I'm surprised that the fact that Allen was the /dog's name/ wasn't among the reasons Red resisted his new name. I wonder...maybe Allen's life would have improved even if Mana hadn't taken him away from the circus, if giving Red a name and making him a person changed how the other people viewed him that much. I can't help but wonder how different Allen's life would have been if that had been the case. Maybe he could be happy somewhere, working managing a circus, instead of *waves hand vaguely at DGM*. The idea that internally Allen reverted to Red after Mana died is an interesting one. That the persona he had constructed with Mana shattered and his months long catatonia was him scrambling to build a new one, because he had already learned that "Red" was not welcome in this world. It's...sad...really. And the implications...that "Allen" died with Mana and was then reborn. It makes you wonder if Allen/Red's personality count is starting to climb up near Lavi's. I really like the two lines at the very end. After reading this story, it really places the age old call and response in a different light. |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/22/2016 aaaaaaaawwwwwwwww |
Aairaa chapter 1 . 12/3/2015 I have a feeling I've read this one before. I love it. It's so well written. This is exactly what I imagined Allen's relationship with Mana and the importance he puts on his name to be. |
Guest chapter 1 . 10/24/2015 Amazing |
greenwings33 chapter 1 . 4/21/2014 :D Awe! I really like it! |
Guest 3 chapter 1 . 1/28/2014 Very good story! Short and bittersweet, hitting the point head-on. I wish there were more fanfics like this with Red and Allen; where there is a distinct difference between them. Great job! |
pavius chapter 1 . 1/22/2014 Awe, sad and sweet :) |
Silver-Snow-77 chapter 1 . 1/22/2014 This was short and bittersweet. A glimpse into the mindset of Red as he becomes Allen, yet the distinction between the two remains clear. Well done. |
