love it
Guest chapter 1 . 3/7/2016
This story was great. I absolutely loved it. I am sad this story isn't a part of the OUAT official story. I have to admit I was devasted when this ended because I had spend probably a week reading these stories and felt empty without reading it. I feel like your story should be published and I shall BEG for another sequel. I cannot describe the amount of love I have for this story. I am at a loss of words to describe this. Thank you for your amazing stories. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEASE, make another sequel. I just don't want this to come to an end and I feel like there's so much more to tell. Maybe just some oneshots, I don't know, you can decide. Thank you again for these amazing stories.
Bloody-Aliice chapter 22 . 3/8/2016
I don't write reviews often because they are super long, but I believed you deserve one. I hope you're sitting comfortably because you're about to read the longest review you've ever gotten.

I'll start by quoting Jane Austen: “If a book is well written, I always find it too short.” Well, that said, your story was way too short. After almost 130k words, you'd think I had enough, but I just don't, because it was simply too good to get enough of.
Now, it might not be a quality of mine, but I'm really not into leaving small over-excited reviews on each chapter every time there's an update. I prefer to read completed fanfictions and then leave this kind of essay-like review.
Let me now proceed to explain in extensive details why your story – and I consider Red Rebellion and Never Seas being 'one' – is mind blowing. I gotta say that I have a slight preference for the sequel, but maybe it's just because Elizabeth is closer to my actual age – which is 19 by the way – so yeah, I think I could relate better.
Anyway, I finished it last night – very late, too late to write this right after – and when I closed it, heart still bouncing in my chest, I just thought “I can't just go on with my life after this. I gotta tell this author how amazing it was”.
It's probably going to be a tad messy because it's still very fresh in my mind and I'm typing like I'm possessed by the fanfiction demon.
Let's just start by how incredibly well you write. English is not my first language – I'm French – and I can only dream to achieve this prose of yours, but damn girl! No redundant repetitions, no boring paragraphs of pointless description, no meaningless dialogues. You can express in just two words what I write in a whole sentence. I remember a line where Pan has a look of “amused shock”. I swear, when I read this, I put the book down, looked my friend dead in the eyes and just let out the most frustrated groan that ever crossed my lips. Just... how? The words were written right there, and they were so simple and yet I could picture his expression so clearly. Even if I swallowed the Oxford Dictionary, I wouldn't be able to find such a perfect combination of words to show what I imagine in my head.
Do you realize I re-read certain passages of description? Yes, re-read. I usually skip them after over twenty chapters of boring landscape description, but yours are just so well-blended into the story and relevant, I wonder how it's even possible to write so many action scenes related to ships and sword-fighting without becoming repetitive. High five girl!
I'm jealous. I know it's not healthy to compare my writings to yours, but I can't help it – sue me.
Second point: The characters. I have to start with Elizabeth. Honestly when I read the synopsis of Red Rebellion, I did this thing where you just stare off into the distance with a dumbfounded expression. Elizabeth Swan. How fucking obvious. I mean, the daughter of a Swan and a pirate – in that moment, I could have smashed my head into a brick wall because I didn't think of it first. That aside, I love her. She's so fierce and cool and not basically everything I love in a character. About a month ago I made an angry post on tumblr about how tired I was of reading Peter Pan imagines with a defenseless, naive, crybaby as insert reader. It's just not accurate. Peter Pan going for some innocent little girl who can't defend herself, cries all the time and is a love-struck fool. Elizabeth is what I'm looking for when I start reading a Peter Pan fanfiction.
I mean, sure, there a all types of girls in the world, but let's face it, we're talking about Peter Pan. And not just any Pan, OUAT Pan. I think people tend to forget that he's a villain? I don't make the rules, that's just the way he's been written, and that's what I want to read about, not some ingenue turning Peter into a good guy.
Which brings us to the way you wrote Peter. Let me tell you that I would hug the hell out of you if I could – I can't though, so let's have a virtual hug – and throw petals of roses in the air. Perhaps I'm getting a bit carried away when saying that, but I think that I can say on the behalf of all your readers that you are a blessing to the fandom.
You have graced us with your talented works and for that I can't thank you enough, because I hardly find as good a fanfiction every blue moon – especially in smaller fandoms like OUAT, it's far easier when you dig in the Harry Potter fandom.
But I'm digressing. What I'm trying to say in such a confusing way is that I love the way you wrote Peter. He's true to himself, almost – definitely – better than originally written (I'm still not over the Peter is Rumpel's father plot twist, so weird, so far-fetched) and incredibly in character. Most of the Peter Pan fanfics I read are wayyyy out of character and it just makes me roll my eyes so far back in my head that I get a glimpse of my brain. You on the other hand, turned him into this complex, two faced character and didn't rid him of his 'villain' traits – and how masterfully.
I explain: Your Peter is not evil (anymore? Anyway) but writing him completely good would be of poor taste and out of character. And this alternative you found – making Elizabeth (and thus the reader) doubt his intentions after Maddie talked her into being careful because he only cared about himself, but then plot twist, he was actually trustworthy and only his methods were shady. You literally took the best of both worlds – yes, I'm quoting Hannah Montana. The way you chose to write the last few chapters gives everybody what they want: we get good Pan, shady Pan, vulnerable Pan, powerful Pan, helpless Pan, and all that without a single fault in the plot. It's all perfect – and I don't use that adjective often to qualify fanfictions, I'm pretty hard to satisfy – and ever that is an understatement.
One of the main issues about OUAT is the many many many characters. It's not like you can just ignore some of them because you like them least or anything, because they are all related. (I don't know if the italic part is visible, but just read the last part in a very dramatic tone. Honestly, I struggle. Too many characters, too weird a family tree. Poor Henry.) But once again, you managed to handle all of them – apart maybe from Regina? She was a bit absent from Never Seas, but it's not like it affects the plot. And all those characters, all those different personalities and various dialogues and YET, you still managed to keep Peter and Elizabeth at the center of everything. They are never pushed to the second plan, they are the core of the story and the others – no matter how many of them there are – revolve around them, they never steal the spotlight.

I hope you're still with me. Hang on a little longer, I'm almost there.

Now the OUAT/Pirate of the Caribbean crossover. It's wonderful. I couldn't chose which soundtrack to listen to while reading. There's just enough of each universe to create this balance the story rests on. Davy Jones was as cruel as the PotC movies made it look like and the details you gave about the different OCs were incredible. I'm talking about Davy Jones, Liam, Milah, Rufio and of course, the heroes' children. They have such depth, they are believable, they have a story. And you made me like – well, maybe not like like but tolerate – Belle, although I found her deeply irritating in the series – she's just too forgiving for my liking, there are some things and people that do not deserve forgiveness.
I'm running short of compliments, but you get the idea.
This essay of a review wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention the cliffhangers. You mastered the art of cliffhangers. As I said before, I only read completed works, but every time I came to the end of a chapter, I felt sorry for the poor souls who had to endure this kind of torture. Especially the chapter 22, the one tat finished with Davy Jones stabbing Killian who had Lizzie's heart. I remember thinking “oh man, that was a nasty cliffhanger, I'm so glad I don't have to wait for the update”.

And I think we're done. If you didn't fall asleep halfway through my monologue, then congratulations, you lived through it.
I didn't plan this to be this long, sorry... I just figured that you deserved a real feedback for all your work – I know how much a nice review can lift your spirit.

I am aware that all this enthusiasm for a fanfiction might make me look like a maniac, but my pride will not stand in the way of this review and you. I've read hundreds of fanfictions and only a handful of them received a review, and as you can see, I always put time and passion in my feedback – because good feedback is what makes you improve, although I don't know what you could improve.

I have to stop talking now.

All the awards for you girl!

Sincerely,
Alice.

WOW! I am in love with your stories! Both this story and Red Rebellion have had me reading every spare second I get! You did an amazing job of finding the characters voices and introducing charters in a total OUAT way! I found my self fangirling several times over how perfect everything fit together. I am so disappointed that Pan didn't turn out like this in the actual show. I hope you continue to write stories about Elizabeth and Pan! The story is fantastic! 3
Guest chapter 24 . 11/29/2015
It had a happy ending THANK YOU! Beautiful story and ahhhhhh the FEELS! I was so sad when they killed off Peter Pan and as you put it, the writers on this site let characters like him live on, and make Peter Pan human. He was one of the only Once characters with no real redeeming characteristics, or wrong-but-understandable reasons to go bad. He deserved love, and watching Killians reaction to his love for his daughter is just icing on the cake! ;) and let's face it, Emma would totally notice and sneak in a snide remark about her history project closing the window but not tell Killian. Ahhhhh I could SO go on and on this is an AMAZING story, and if you're reading this Id love of you could do a one shot where Peter comes over to get her for a date or traditionally asks Killian for permission to court her and he flips out :) or she makes some sneaky remark and he realizes she and Pan may have done some naughty things... Mwahahaha! I love watching Killian suffer as a dad. Anyway please and THANK YOU for this lovelt story I stayed up until 1 AM on a Sunday night for!

knarl chapter 24 . 7/7/2015
Thank you so much for finishing. I have loved every momeny of this fic. It is my fav one ever, I've gone back and read both of ur peter/lizzie stories about ten times -and I can't belive you've finally finished it, u have no idea how long I thought u were actually going to kill of lizzie for. For months my innter monologue was like 'omg is lizzie dead. I need u to update!' And I thank your ro updating and for not killing her off. My heart wouldn't have been able to deal with that. Peter ad lizzie are now my otp and I'm so sad it has come to an end (its like my fav tv show is ending... Is there a chance for a possible sequal? Its cool if there isnt, I can still continue to go back and re-read this fic whenever and relive it all), it was my first peter/oc story I ever read and I have yet to find another story that is as good ad this. Your writing is amazing as well as your characterization and plots. I appluade you and thank you so much for writing this, I've enjoyed it soo much :D

Wow. Just wow.

It has been quite a long while since I've found a story written with such finesse and clarity. They way that you wrote your characters...their emotions and actions...

Bravo.

Until next time! I believe we will all see promising thighs from you :)

Speaking of Red Rebellion, I am about to read that story for the twelfth time and then this sequel because I love this AU so much liked don't even think you realize. Ionosphere isn't a trilogy, but can you maybe consider the possibility of a collection of one-shots involving this AU? The fluff and mischief between Elizabeth and Peter makes me cry because why couldn't they have just turned your story into a show?

P.S. I normally would have used all CAPS, but I have refrained from doing so because it miGHT GET OUT OF CONTROL
