Those two pacts he made to himself are the exact pacts i made to myself growing up, so seeing that suddenly made this story a lot more personal. Even more personal than it already was, given the topic

I wish i could favorite this more than once. I love stories like this that delve into the specific impact being trans has on fictional world mechanics, especially since writers almost never factor it in themselves. I never would've thought about the impact dysphoria would have on a spell like apparation.
Kudos for a nicely done execution in a way that feels part of the world while still exploring how the idea works out in an easy to grasp way :)

Really nice story; I was choking up at the end... The concept is actually brilliant... Sorry I don't sound more enthusiastic, I'm just kind of down after reading this. Like, you know, when you read something and feel sad because it's sad- agh, I'm rambling. Anyway, this was excellent, and I would actually love to see more stuff like this.
