Usually I'm a bit leery of "abusive John" fics, but wow, you handled this masterfully! I LOVED Sam telling Dean that HE was his hero, and the one who raised him... Dean is my hero, too! The BEST big brother any kid could have asked for, and he deserved to hear it. Thanks for sharing this!
