halfblood hufflepuff chapter 1 . 3/2/2017
DANG tom riddle sr. trying his best to be patient and understanding and just being an overall good father was touching even that awkward spontaneous hug and Harry good job tom will miss you greatly ; I like how Harry points out Tom only wanted his parent's love, but like we all know Tom also loves him lol
But yeah I love how mature their conversations are LOL and how Riddle Sr. internally freaks out about the dead animals but outwardly tries to understand - so so cute!

that last line killed me in ways that you can't even fathom .
mabidiso chapter 1 . 6/3/2015
As unimaginable as it may seem, Harry made Riddle Sr. likable. It's absolutely amazing the man kept as much of himself as he did in face of a demonically possessed house. And all little Tom needed was hugs and love? Don't buy it. He needed divine intervention and a best buddy calling him 'fucktard'.

I adore this story to bits! However sometimes it was a bit hard to understand some things, but in the end you do. And that makes it more wonderful that ever.
Epsilon Scorpii chapter 1 . 3/20/2015
For me the best thing about this fic was the characterization. Tom trod a very thin line between normality and psychopathic in a way, yet he's not too far gone - Harry manages to bring him out of it in a way that's perfectly plausible. Riddle Sr. is the image of a cold aristocratic individual, at the same time a single parent with little ideas how to raise his child, to tolerate or to stamp out Toms strangeness. I love the way the characters had so many shades to them, and Tom's belief that harry was his Angel was just hilarious yet plausible in a way. Very original piece of work, loved it! :)

This Story Is Beautiful. I Wish There Was More.
Rose Dorea Potter Black chapter 1 . 7/25/2014
I love it. First of all, it's a really original idea. Second, all that you let us know was well explained and the parts you didn't explain completly were with just enough blank spaces that we could guess ( correctly, I hope) what happened. For the third part, you didn't write a paragraph that was useless. All contributed to explain the mystery that was the Riddle Manor with the strange little Tom.

Cute story! Tom is so different :)
kat1316 chapter 1 . 5/23/2014
I really liked this story despite the disturbing animal parts. I wish there was a sequel where they meet in the future.
Blithesome chapter 1 . 4/5/2014
Oh, what to comment on... First of all, this was a great story. It was so AU that it was kind of weird to read, but I liked it. You changed a lot of things, not only in the Potterverse canon, but real world stuff too - like how all of the people in Little Hangleton were not only tolerant, but supportive of homosexuality, even though they were still going through WWII.

I really enjoyed how obsessive Tom was. The line where he thought Harry's eyes were made just the right shade of green and Harry calling him delusional afterwards made me laugh so much. But I sobered up quickly when Harry described Tom as a person practically starving for affection and yearning for something more than the little backwards village he was stuck in. I could imagine just how unfulfilling and confusing his life must have felt like before Harry came along and he learned about magic.

It was nice to see Tom Riddle Sr. and Jr. patching up their relationship. But the way they started it was rather hilarious... A moment of bonding over a pile of mutilated carcasses? xD It's good to know about your son's hobbies, but that must have been such an awkward moment!

I have mixed feelings about the ending. On one hand, it wraps things up nicely and leaves a sense of mystery (which I could feel throughout the whole story and what I think is what made it stand out from other fics). On the other hand, it raises all these questions of how this weird AU past and Harry's actions will affect the future, and it's also really sad that Tom has to let go of Harry, who seems to be his first real friend, just when they had started to get along.

Finally, I'd like to praise your writing style - I always admire stories that can insert whole scenes and days' worth of character development into just a few lines where the reader gets to deduce what has happened in between scenes. It's such an incredible way to expand a story beyond the word count, and reading between the lines is so much fun. I think you're a skilled author to pull it off to such an extent as what was shown in this story.
