DaughterofTyr chapter 4 . 1/31/2017 I stumbled on your story last night I believe. I have to tell you it is phenomenal and I absolutely love the way you wrote these characters. |
AedricDaedra chapter 4 . 2/15/2015 It's great seeing more about J'shana's adventures from different perspectives. From Karliah's perspective of her involvement in the Thieve's Guild during Indigo Nightingale, from J'shana's post-event perspective in her journal seen in Night Eye, and from Derkeethus's perspective from this. The same story can look so different from someone else's point of view in it. I get the feeling that at the time that Indigo Nightingale was written, this scene with Derkeethus wasn't concepted yet - or if it was, just not important enough to be referenced in that story. It would be pretty cool if the story's crossed over like that - I mean, they already do (Meeko being in this story for one), but retroactively added in to stories that were written earlier, like Brynjolf lightly mentioning something about Derkeethus, as he was so distressed, once everything's calmed down with Karliah being the Cistern and learning about Mercer during Indigo Nightingale. Or maybe there's not a good time for that anyway, it could take away from the Mercer/Karliah thing during the scene. The same could be said for Night Eye, some things differ in events detailed here as they did in J'shana's journal that A'jira finds. (Derkeethus being met earlier in her adventure, proposing with a ring instead of an amulet of mara, the time of proposal being after the event with Mercer instead of a Dragon attack on Riften, Lydia having died against Sohloknir instead of becoming a blade, and a lot about J'shana's past with her clan, to mention a few.) I can tell you had kept the journal in mind though when you mentioned the bear head on Galmor during the Season Unending meeting though. :P I really like the changes to them that were presented here, especially with all the detail added, it's just a suggestion for if you ever want to edit a few things in your earlier stories, to tweak stuff like J'shana's journal to account for the change in backstory/events, etc. It's probably something you've already planned on doing anyway but never find the time to due to writing new stories, but nonetheless I still thought this would be good to mention just in case. As always, another great story, I'm glad to have come across your works, these past few days have given me a lot to read. :) |
Yeghishe chapter 4 . 3/4/2014 I think this is really lovely. Shall I tell you the things I like? Characterization! You make J'shana's 'cat-ness' come alive. I also love that you have paired a "normal" person with a warrior. Its adorable. Also using cultural items (Darkeethus's ring & J'shana's naming amulet) in their relationship. Your use of the quest-lines! While I am not a huge fan of the main thieves guild quests myself (most of them I feel have nothing to do with actually STEALING anything) you used them perfectly. The flashbacks! I think they work wonderfully here! I am a big fan of starting my stories in the middle of the action and filling in the pieces around it. Lovely job! -y |
ShoutFinder chapter 4 . 3/2/2014 As always, a sweet ending. I loved that moment when J'shana was going on and on and on and on and *breathe deeply* on and on...those two together are just so sweet. And I'm glad that though she suffered in the past, she found her happiness. Hmm, you've got my mind ticking over a new idea of a oneshot, actually. But this story was a delight to follow through, and it'll still be a favvie of mine. Awesome work, Sky! Can't wait for Jeerala's and Ozan's tales! :) |
Azaisya chapter 4 . 2/27/2014 I wish this was longer. Oh, well. I'm late, I know, but I actually noticed the chapter was there ages ago and didn't have time to read it all until now. I really love J'shana and Keeth and... yeah. I love this little fic! Very nice and sweet and I really like Meeko. |
Jzeylyn chapter 3 . 2/19/2014 Great story! This has been one of the most enjoyable reads I've had in a long time. You have a descriptive and flowing writing style that paints a picture for your reader. Better yet, you tell a good story and THAT is what writing is all about. Again, well done! My only complaint is that there isn't more of it! |
MasterAssassinScrolls chapter 4 . 2/18/2014 Wow, God Sky, you're just - just AWESOME! (If I could I would give that sentence one hundred exclamation points)! I really don't know how you do it, I mean you say you got writer's block and yet here I am, just finished the last chapter of this four-shot, and everything I read a minute ago disagrees with your cold, hard fact. This was amazing, not just this last chapter, but every chapter. You should be proud of this piece of wonderful literature, no EVERY piece you do, because they're all amazing just like this one! Oh, and I should say that Derkeethus and J'shana are now forever in my heart, I'll never forget them! *Places hand over heart* |
SimonStormcloak chapter 4 . 2/18/2014 Sorry, I couldn't log in. An excellent finish! A great conclusion to a lovely fourshot that I'm sure captivated all readers, and pulled many into the realm of Skyflower, to view your lovely works of art, perhaps- Oh, I'm rambling. Apologies. But 'tis truly a fantastic chapter, I'm sorry more cannot be said, but there's no criticism from me. |
BrunetteAuthorette99 chapter 4 . 2/18/2014 Awww... if you hadn't said anything, I would never have known that you got writer's block at the very end; everything flowed together so beautifully and seamlessly. :) J'Shana and Derkeethus are the cutest. |
Ausar The Vile chapter 4 . 2/18/2014 Wait? This is the last chapter? *cue Inception music* NOOOOooooOOOOOooooooOOOOOooooOOO! On the other hands, a very well done chapter! *claps while blew my nose..* |
SpiritOfJazz chapter 3 . 2/1/2014 It's so refreshing reading a romance (and a good one at that) with not only a Khajiit or an Argonian both both. In only three chapters you've got me caring and worrying sick about them :S Like... A lot. And as much as I hope you update soon, I know how it feels (as does everyone) to be plagued by the dreaded writers block, so don't feel pressured to crank chapters out. Go at your own pace and maintain your wonderful style :) |
BrunetteAuthorette99 chapter 3 . 2/1/2014 More backstory! I have a deep, abiding love for backstory, so this chapter made me very happy, especially with the witty little comments about Galmar's helmet and the whole "You shall not pass" thing. :P But there were also some tender, more emotional moments, which I also enjoyed. |
ShoutFinder chapter 3 . 2/1/2014 Hmm...I have a feeling I'll need to do a bit of twinging on J'shana's story in Torn. Not much, though. And I can guess what kind of special legend the Tygra tribe has... Arrogant blather indeed. I bet she'll remind him of it in Pass...hey, wait a moment... *lightbulb!* This was an awesome chapter! And yep, I thought, 'Thalmor', and couldn't help but give a small bittersweet laugh at the sabre cat part (since I recall meeting her quadruped uncle)...and now for the (final?) chapter... I love you, your writing, J'shana, your portrayed Derkeethus (BEWARE THE PICKAXE!)...everything! Keep writing! |
MasterAssassinScrolls chapter 3 . 2/1/2014 When I started reading this chapter it was last night. I got about halfway through then was way too tired to read more. Started reading from where I stopped just this morning, and I have to say it: I was amazed by how this opened up my eyes and kept them open. I'm actually generally really, really hard to wake up but now I know that all I have to do is read one of your pieces and I'll feel rejuvenated like never before. So I praise and take my leave, for I'm expected someplace else... |
Verbluffen chapter 3 . 2/1/2014 Not bad, not bad at all. But you said "J'shan" without an 'a' at the end near the end of the chapter. And that last line in Dovah, we never learned what it is. I mean, I know, but for all the other readers. Yes, no less than I expect from you, the wonderful Sky. |
