it's so refreshing to read a castle story not about caskett haha
and then about gina like I never spent more than a few minutes thinkg about her
I mean I actally did like her as a character in season 3 but yeah idk
and oh I like this as an explanation for the name confusion haha yeah this was nice

I just found this and I really enjoyed it. Great fix of the whole Cowell/Griffin thing. And thanks for making Gina human. I've always felt that the exes - with the possible exception of Meredith - have gotten a bad rap. Gina does make a good foil in fics, if Castle and Beckett need to be apart, have Gina put Rick in a meeting. But on the whole, she isn't a bad person. Thanks again for the great story!

Good back story for a character that really should have had one if they used her at all. Doctor Motorcycle Boy had a better back story, and I hated him. Great job. Keep up the good work.

Love this idea. I know that she and Rick were on bad footing at the start of the series but they continued working together so I've never thought that she was an inherently bad person. This a beautiful, humanizing take on a little seen character.

I really like this little background you did on Gina. We really don't know that much about her beside what has been said on the show. I really liked the explanation of her two last names and how she did like Alexis, even if she wasn't very close with her. Thanks for writing!

This is great. I'm not sure I ever noticed any disparity in Gina's last name, tbh. I suspect it's more a consequence of a mistake in the writer's room, but I think this is a great headcanon to cover that up. I'm probably one of a few people in the fandom who actually likes Gina, so it was great to see someone delve into her backstory a bit. Awesome job!

I actually quite like Geoffrey and how he saw a spark of drive & determination in the young, just graduated college graduate. Luv that he offered her an internship and how they had to hide their relationship and yes, rumors would fly around about Gina sleeping her way to the top. That's a given with the territory. So sad about the affair though, but so true to life.

Beautiful story. I've always wondered about Gina's story. I don't think it has been explored much on the show leaving room for a story just like this. I thought you tied the little pieces we do know about Gina and Rick's relationship wonderfully. Thanks for providing a background that is realistic and characteristic. Loved it!

I like it. I've never understood the negative portrayals of Gina given we were never show anything to support them. In fact she is probably the least objectionable person to get between Castle and Beckett. For whatever reason Beckett's boyfriends, pre-show included, all came off as a bit too full of themselves and if I were to start on the problems with every woman that got involved with Castle during the run of the show I'd run out of space. So it's nice to see a fic that show this woman as something other than a monster or the living incarnation of evil.
