VJ Riddle chapter 5 . 3/26/2014
I like the idea of traveling back with Gai as an accomplice, it's unique and I always enjoyed their friendship (as weird and bizarre as it often seems). Excited to see where it goes (and looking forward to checking out that one from Gai's perspective :) )
randomfics chapter 5 . 2/27/2014
huh, this is pretty interesting! I enjoy how this isn't a normal time-travel trick where Kakashi is going to try righting everything. I do enjoy Kakashi's realization of how much trust he's putting on Gai, and I hope that little!Kakashi will eventually make an appearance- or at least one of their trials/challenges/something utterly ridiculous happens sometime. It was a little confusing at first, but when I gave it a re-read it straightened itself out.
Magnusrae chapter 5 . 2/23/2014
There is a paragraph, approx. fourteen up from the bottom, where the tense changes abruptly from past to present. Other than that, I didn't notice any mistakes, which is to be congratulated.

The crouching on the ceiling part was pretty easy to picture and I could imagine shinobi accomplishing it easily. It was a good bit of the story that made sense given that they weren't really using chakra. I also liked the reference to the embarrassing piggyback ride and the fact that Kakashi apparently succumbed to it with out much protest at the end. That was a good point to insert a bit of humor.

I felt there was a bit of information overload on the sealing and have to wonder if it is pertainant to the rest of the story. Having so much detail about the sealing kind of killed the tension that should have accompanied the act of sneaking into Danzo's hidden lair and copying his secret scrolls. I also thought that having Kakashi play a bit of a prank on the meditating shinobi felt out of character for him, given what a huge risk for blowing their cover it was. Yes, I know he set it up so it seemed as if the other guy inside the storage room had done it, but it wouldn't have taken much dialog for the two to figure out something else was going on. Or the storage room guy, upon being accused, might have decided to investigate on his own.

Over all it was a well written chapter and at least this mission is over and done with. I hope to see what Kakashi plans to do with his copied scrolls soon and also I hope for Gai to have a bit more presence in the future chapters. Happy Writing!
Lopithecus chapter 5 . 2/18/2014
Hehe, I don't know why, but as soon as I read "convenient finger holes" for the description of the kunai, I got a good chuckle out of it. :)

It's typical that Kakashi would compare himself to Minato and Jiraiya with the speed he was going at.

When Kakashi was using the ink on the scrolls, was that supposed to be like what Sai does?

Haha, I love your call back to that piggyback ride Gai gave Kakashi that one time. :) However, shouldn't Gai be to "mini" to carry Kakashi back (unless your taking in physical strength and not/instead of body size)?

I, personally, really love Kakashi in this story. I like seeing the path his mind takes in his thought processes and I think you write him really well.

Another chapter filled with information, it'll take me a little while to process it all but I like stories that go into detail instead of just keeping it at the minimum.

As always, great chapter. I'm glad to see that you have started writing a companion story in Gai's point of view. :) I don't have time to read it now since I really should be getting to bed, but I will start reading it tomorrow and let you know what I think. ;)

Thanks for the update. :)
Magnusrae chapter 4 . 2/4/2014
So this mission that Kakashi is on, is it one to determine whether or not he is in an alternate universe? Or has he decided that it was strictly time travel and he has a new mission in mind? Regardless, I find it interesting that his concerns about creating paradoxes and butterfly effects aparently don't extend to young Gai, who he's corrupted the timeline with both unintentionally and now quite deliberately. As for Gai, I would like to know what's on his mind, at least at the moment of finding the elder Kakashi. The format you suggested would do nicely, if you're inclined to write it. Also, their intimacy in the kitchen suggests that he already has a rapport with the Kakashi of his time, and so I wonder if that Kakashi might be making an appearence at any point in time. (retorical question, btw)
This mission they're on is quite interesting and I look forward to reading more. I also liked how Kakashi came to the conclusion that he trusts Gai; that bit of thought proccess was very fun to follow. However, despite your best efforts to clarify things, I'm still having a hard time placing an age on young Gai. Obviously I'm not as versed in the Naruto verse as I'd like to think. An age range in a PM would be greatly appreciated.
Lopithecus chapter 4 . 2/3/2014
A lot of information in this chapter. I really enjoyed reading more of what is going on in Kakashi's head. Very curious as to what Gai thinks though. Someone from the future who looks similar but not exactly like your (almost at that time) best friend just drops in and needs a place to recover... I think I would be confused and wanting to ask many questions. :)

I love reading grown Kakashi and little Gai going on the "mission" together. They work better with each other more than I would have expected, since it is a grownup version of the Kakashi little Gai knows. To Gai, and the time they are in, he probably hasn't had many missions with little Kakashi and have only had a few "competitions" with him as well. It's neat to read how well they work with each other even with the significant age difference and difference in experience.

Very nice chapter and I enjoyed it immensely (plus, the way Kakashi interacts with little Gai is so freaking adorable). ;)

As for the companion story idea, it's really up to you. If you think it'll help then I say go for it, but it wouldn't be a huge deal if you didn't. If you do end up writing a companion story, I'll definitely read it though. :)
Magnusrae chapter 3 . 2/1/2014
Interesting concept. I'd be happy to read more. It would be interesting to see this from Gai's perspective; he's the one who has been confronted with what should be impossible and seems to accept it without a lot of convincing on Kakashi's part. I actually liked the kitchen scene and got what was going on. I kind of wish you'd put an age on 'mini-Gai', because I'm having a hard time picturing him at this point. Clearly he's not a kid, (or is he? the Minato era would in fact encompass that time frame) but how 'mini' is he?
Lopithecus chapter 3 . 1/26/2014
I really liked this chapter. :)

I'll admit, in the beginning of this chapter I was really confused on what was going on (like I knew Kakashi was cooking but I wasn't really understanding the italicized sentences. I'm glad you cleared it up in the note, it makes more sense to me now. :)

Other than that, I thought it was great and really like mini-guy interacting with grown-up Kakashi. I can't wait to see where you take this. :)
Lopithecus chapter 2 . 1/23/2014
This is pretty good so far, can't wait for more. :)
